Toshiba unveils world's lightest laptops

I'm very interested in the right one which features 7 inch dual screens, windows 7, 1 USB port. It seems better than iPad for me. I hope a lot of specialized software will go on sale as soon as possible.

iPad isn't a notebook, it's a tablet. If you need a notebook, then yes, an actual notebook would be better for you by definition.

And one would need a dual screen for what exactly? Especially on the road where a mobile device is most likely used. Other than as a bragging rights gimmick, a dual screen on a notebook is both useless and stupid. I have two 30" HD monitors connected to my desktop where they actually serve a purpose as I require as much screen real estate as possible when editing HD video and/or film projects. Other than in the afore mentioned professional environment, having a dual display on a mobile device just makes you look like the nerd you probably are with no added benefit.

And then we have the brainwashed, braindead Flash drone who cries about a technology that's dragging his PC to a slow crawl and yet thinks he or she needs it because Adobe has told them so, not because they actually know something about technology. If he or she did, they would realize like the idiots who are hooked on oil that Flash is bad for your PC in the same way oil is bad for the environment. Wake up people and get a clue. Geez.

Google (Android) would disagree with you. (In any case, it's not Adobe forcing anything on anyone, it's lazy website "designers" who think they are man's gift to UI who "push" flash on end users.) Nice one though, Steve.

DarkKnightNine... then please illuminate me, as to what is the alternate to flash....HTML5...where and how much is the difference...very miniscule...and wouldn't make any difference except on those rare occasions where you have to see the whole 10-minute clip of the ten stupidest idiots while your building is on fire.

The only reason I do not have any love for Apple products is because most of the websites I regularly visit wont open on their hardware. and its not only me, its the same for everyone from my part of the world, and before anyone else tries to come up with anything smart I confess that I am from a very third-world country.

oh... and flashing your Ipad in front of everyone in Starbucks is, I bet, the most non-nerdiest thing to do.

caldina, with this dual screen thingy you will get the worst of two worlds. When you type, you will only have a tiny screen for use, while the other serves as a touchscreen. Typing on a touchscreen is a pain in the *ss. The only use I can see for such a device is when you want to be able to easily switch between different keyboard layouts.

The RX3 will probably be a nice machine, and despite Toshiba's claims I'd say it comes out a bit heavy. Previous models from the same maker were about 2/3 of the weight while the screen was only slightly smaller at 12.1". I guess the price tag will be heavy as well...

Don't much like Flash. Don't much like Javascript neither when it first came out. But learned to live with them because so many websites use them, though I usually websurf with them default off. At least give the option to turn them on/off, and let us decide for ourselves. Until HTML5 comes out, but that can be years. In the meantime, we have to websurf at this point in time with many useful websites using them.

My experience with Toshiba's light weight models is that I broke 2 in row just carrying them around in a backpack. Since I use Panasonic's Lets Note (1.320 grams), I never had any such issue.

Dual-touchscreen, I am not sure about that. And the news say nothing about its OS. But I am sure whatever they use, it will support flash. Nothing bad for me using flash. People use flash for many purpose. It is not that they lazy or adobe tell them to use as some said. One area that I still see no one can do better than flash is the animation.

Apple can not find a better way to deal with flash so they just flame it as always. “That is an old dirty apple trick of doing business”. No one should take it too serious. Perhaps next they might tell flash animator to go back to gif animation. HTML5 is already here and it is here to stay. it is not a Flash killer and shouldn't be seen that way!
