When I first found out where I was going for my first duty station (Misawa AB) I shamelessly googled the city and using the street view "toured" around. I doubt I'll really use this but it's still a neat feature.

Love what google is doing, keeping history archived like this is amazing.

looked around Japan for archival street views for a bit. there's few places in Japan with street views from 2008 while most locations seem to only have images from 2013 available as of yet.

Google Earth has had the historical feature for quite a while now. Within days of 3/11, you could get updated views of the devastation, then flip back a year and see how it originally looked.

It was only a matter of time before the Google Spy Cars started re-tracing their routes to get updated views. Make sure your wireless routers are encrypted! http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20140405/BIZ/140409546
