Twitter, much like Mos Eisley spaceport,* "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."*

I avoid such nonsense. Much preferred the days when someone had to tell you to your face what they thought of you.

Twitter chaos deepens as key executives quit

Reading articles about Musk and Twitter these days is becoming like binge watching a Netflix or HBO series where every episode ends in a cliff hanger and you can’t walk away because you need to see what crazy stuff will happen next.

Twitter, much like Mos Eisley spaceport, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

I avoid such nonsense. Much preferred the days when someone had to tell you to your face what they thought of you.

There was a lot of cybernet bullying and instant hate/racist trolling on the internet in 2016. It was an extensive plot to overthrow the USA and on Election night it happened. Then the usurper TrashTrump used Twitter to instigate violence against everyone and sass off his hateful mouth all day.

And now Muskrat, like Treasontrump is so damn greedy, wanting control over everything he sees. Only this time it looks like more executives are just not going to take his crap or play his games. And they shouldn't. I hope more of them quit Twitter in droves and leave that greedy Muskrat with egg on his face!

The site still seems to be working fine so all this talk of 'chaos' sounds like bluster

Yes, the website itself is still functioning.

The corporation that runs it, however, is collapsing in real time and even Musk himself is admitting that he has brought it to the brink of bankruptcy within days of taking it over.

Will Twitter survive?

The launch also saw the emergence of a flurry of fake accounts as users used the opportunity to impersonate celebrities and politicians such as NBA star LeBron James or former British prime minister Tony Blair.

If Musk had read the books which he said inspired him more carefully, Iain M. Banks The Culture series, he would have known the anarchic, chaotic impulse for freedom against corporate oligarchs is very strong.

"Bankruptsy is a real option" from another article.

This is the best Reality Show this year. I liked the bit where the new guy did something dumb and everybody laughed. Who needs tv when you have this crazy show happening?

This could sink Tesla, which would be a shame. It could also sink Twitter, which would be... well, I don't think anyone will care.

I used to use Twitter a long time ago, back when it was useful. If it went away 15 years ago, I'd have been unhappy, if it goes away today, I'd barely raise an eyebrow.

I can't deny there is a bit of schadenfreude. But, apart from that, I dunno what I think. Perhaps a government could buy it off him and run it as a non-commercial instrument, as a piece of infrastructure. Citizens could have more control that way. Depends on whether you trust government or not, I guess. I personally don't trust corporations and their enablers - they are turning us into morons - so government seems to be a slightly better bet.

The idiot musk is starting to realize that people might forgive Tesla bugs because he created something new. But to roll out half baked features on Twitter with no concern for security and privacy, making up random rules and becoming the lying mouthpiece of the lying MAGA is going to bring down not only Twitter but any credibility musk has as a businessman.

He should switch to making cars which run on coal because that’s what the MAGA idiots will drive in a few years!!

I think the thing Musk didn't consider was that opening Twitter up the way it has would allow the masses to use it against Twitter itself.

This stupid "Pay 8$ to be verified, no matter what" thing is probably going to sink it. A few reasons for this:

1) Its going to keep advertisers away. The site is now crawling with verified accounts purporting to be major corporations and posting all sorts of stuff that is harmful to their reputations because that is now something Twitter is OK with you doing. Which is fine if you like chaos I guess, and Musk obviously does, but no company is going to want to advertise on a platform like that. The 8$ fees aren't going to make up for the lost advertising.

2) It is quickly making Twitter useless as an information source if you've got to wade through a huge volume of fake accounts to figure out what is real and what isn't.

3) Not related to the 8$ thing per se, but legal compliance is going to be a nightmare now that half the workforce is gone. The company is likely going to be facing a mountain of regulatory action and have the threat of billions in fines hanging over its head as long as this continues.

4) Nobody in their right mind is going to want to work at Twitter under current management, so they have an adverse selection problem (only people who can't find jobs elsewhere would be stupid enough to work for them).

Also, none of this is being done with any sort of sound business plan. When he talks to advertisers and others with business interests in Twitter now all he does is repeat his platitudes about freeing speech, etc. Businesses don't care about that, they have business concerns which he isn't even pretending to address.

I doubt Twitter will last long with him in charge.

Not quite the new era of freedom I was promised. What a shambles.

There are so many ‘verified’ accounts tweeting ‘parodies’ that look absolutely authentic. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Musk’s logical failure is firing some former executives and half of the staff while forgetting that the remaining rest is still and unchanged those 100% leftists.

Musk destroying his businesses and credibility because some idiots egged him on to take revenge on the 'leftists' is the sweetest revenge ever!!

Yeah the left has not taken well to losing their one sided mouthpiece. Will get fixed soon enough.

sooo recap....

Musk make fuss that he will buy twitter paying 44 billions

Then, Musk noticed that Twitter was not such a good deal (wonder why Musk being so smart and business saavy didn't got that information sooner....), so he back off his own deal.

Twitter said, "you said you are goinna buy it, then buy it", Musk say "nay".... Twitter said "to the court"....

Musk and Twitter talking at the court... the court said "this Musky deal seems to be binding"...

Musk then said to himself (or pehaps a higher mind??) "oh shcuks, I think i have to buy it before this get more costely"... so he bought.

...But... Musk did not have enough cash to he had to sell a coupe of his golden shares (Tesla) to cover part of the 44 billions (bad time to sell shares, considering their prices are very low at the moment)...

Musk said "I sell share 'cause Twitte money does not make"... in a big pompous way..

... But then we say, "we all knew Twitter did not make money, some time ago... why genious Musk did not know that?"....

Musk say: "i am here to save da day, cost 8 dallars to have a blue jay",

but we say : "Twitter never charge for a jay, though that machination must have surface on an early day. Surely, a smart man will have other roads for salvation, since he has rockets, cars, robots and excavations"

Musk say: "oh I know, half the staff go away, the other half will work am to pm eyday. Blue ticks will cost 8 dollars, gray ticks are not my thing, go away you schemer of the gray !!!"

Musk say : "Twitter will be like its chief. So Twitter be as Twedle dum"

Yeah the left has not taken well to losing their one sided mouthpiece. Will get fixed soon enough.

I don’t think Lockheed Martin are ‘the left’.

Try again.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I have not used Twitter or FB for more than 12 years. They matter nothing to me.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I don’t think Lockheed Martin are ‘the left’.

Lockheed Martin is making fake accounts pretending to be someone else to annoy musk?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Meanwhile, Twitter is huge in Japan due to its anonymity, mainly. As a result, it's a total cesspool of deceit, bullying and filth.

Can't wait for it's final tweet. Thank you for culling the bird, Mr. Musk.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Lockheed Martin is making fake accounts pretending to be someone else to annoy musk?

Ohhhh. So you meant actually the left are using Twitter to annoy the right. Well, yes.

You think that’s good, do you? After all, you claimed twitter had already improved for the better many months ago.

You must be over the moon it’s all going so swimmingly.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

using Twitter to annoy the right.

No to annoy Musk and make him look bad.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

I guess musk really isn't the genius he thought he was. Unless the advertising $ falling is just a ruse.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

*No to annoy Musk and make him look bad.*

Musk can do that without any help.

The bigots swarming Twitter and driving away advertisers will get Musk kicked out of Twitter and then Tesla, Hilarious that Musk tried to appeal to the bigots and they in turn led to his downfall!!!

So many big fanfare deadlines ending up as wet farts. What’s your next great hope?

There was a lot of cybernet bullying and instant hate/racist trolling on the internet in 2016. It was an extensive plot to overthrow the USA and on Election night it happened.

Which side are you talking about? To stop and remove an adult elected President by any means necessary?

Then the usurper

No, he was duly elected

TrashTrump used Twitter to instigate violence against everyone and sass off his hateful mouth all day.

Wrong again, he used Twitter as a platform to speak to his 80 million followers primarily to give them his side because our lamestream media never gave him time, interview or wanted to hear his side, so much for democracy and that is how he started using Twitter daily, who the heck does the media think they are? They can't just give one-sided opinions and zero balance, that might happen in Latin American nations, but it should never happen in the US.

And now Muskrat, like Treasontrump

Treason? You might want to take a look at our intelligence agency first.

is so damn greedy, wanting control over everything he sees.

And not this admin? I think they do, that's why the people said, No more, and now Nancy will be leaving shortly, that greed train is over.

Only this time it looks like more executives are just not going to take his crap or play his games. And they shouldn't. I hope more of them quit Twitter in droves and leave that greedy Muskrat with egg on his face!

Yes, let them all leave, I agree with you, that helps the company, Musk, and people like myself that feel and know that the left is not the only one that has the right to speak out, democracy is not a liberal thing only, remember that.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Musk put himself in an impossible position. He let a Twitter argument goad him into buying Twitter, so he could say whatever he wants. But to say whatever he wants, he also has to let everyone else say whatever they want. But when you let the posters say whatever they want, the advertisers run.

So Musk either has to continue pandering to the extremists, thereby driving away advertisers, or restrict speech, thereby driving away the extremists who support him.

He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, and he put himself into this situation.

Real business genius there...

3 ( +3 / -0 )

People, sell your shares of that Musk's circus before it goes bankrupt, thanks for ruining the best of social media, you're a total flop..

Leave Twitter and keep playing astronaut..

RIP TWITTER..

using Twitter to annoy the right.

No to annoy Musk and make him look bad.

Elon is doing a bang up job of making himself look like an idiot. The "left" (I guess that's the pejorative term for those who like truth and decency) are most helping him along the path.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Wrong again, he used Twitter as a platform to speak to his 80 million followers primarily to give them his side because our lamestream media never gave him time,

ROFL, the idiot followers of the falsestream media, the one which is now taking a dump on donald, complaining about unfair reporting.

Fact is elon paid $44 billion for a company which is worth $8 billion now. He seems on path to surpass the business skills of the fraud donald , th one who bankrupted a casino.

It’ll be fun if both donald and elon file for bankruptcy at the same time!!!
