Poo emoji is definitely not what freedom of speech would be happy with!
Harry_Gatto
Musk and Trump; two fine examples of the old saying, "you can't buy class".
TokyoLiving
A great disaster can come for twitter if that clown manages to buy it..
Sven Asai
Twitter in its current situation without any freedom of speech is the real disaster, not those two clowns who currently own or have intentions to buy it.
dagon
Musk, who has said bots plague Twitter and that he would make getting rid of them a priority if he owned the platform, responded to that tweet by Agrawal with a poo emoji.
Musk is waiting until his Neuralink startup perfects the tech so you can tweet just by thought alone.
Nibek32
@sven
The only people that are calling Twitter liberal and oppressing freedom of speech are:
a) bots
b) extremists that want to be able spread misinformation
c) conspiracy theorists that have went down a rabbit hole, likely due to mental health.
Which one are you?
wtfjapan
A great disaster can come for twitter if that clown manages to buy it..
already has, Tesla shares have crashed 30% over 300billion since last months announcement, about 50billion from Elons wealth, understand why hes put the Twitter decision on hold.

There's no such thing as a rabbit hole.
Rabbits make Warren's with multiple exits and or entrances !
A hole has only one entrance or exit.
Ah_so
Tell us, what's is it your like to say on Twitter that you can't? Of the hundreds of posts of mine that have been deleted by the JT moderator over the past 20+ years, I can't think of a single one that works have been moderated on Twitter.
Have you ever had a post removed on twitter, and if so, what were you saying?
Ah_so
I guess that would include overtly racist posts as well. Having just been over to the Buffalo shooting thread and seen what hasn't been removed by the moderator, I would hate to have to read what has already been been removed.

Lol, a year ago Musk was every liberal's favorite green guy, he opens his mouth, has an opinion, runs from the reservation, and is now vilified as the enemy for not being another liberal lemming.
It'll bounce back, give it time.
Seriously doubt that, the opposite as a matter of fact.

"...Musk replies with poo emoji"
Always the eloquent speaker like his buddy trump. The picture with this article gives him the look of a puffed up, pompous partridge... Can't we ever have a REAL heroic figure that doesn't turn out to be a crass, narcissistic twit?
Blacklabel
any mention of Hunter Biden’s laptop
anything at all about Covid that Fauci said wasn’t true.
any differentiation of dying from COVID compared to dying with Covid.
any questioning of the 2020 election whatsoever.
all which are allowed NOW.

d) the person who bought it, Elon musk
Blacklabel
Elon seems pretty sure that it’s not 5% but 20% of the accounts that are bots/spam. so the CEO lied in their filings to the Feds.
Must have a guy on the inside. I smell a 20% discount.
funkymofo
the person who bought it, Elon musk
Must have a guy on the inside. I smell a 20% discount
If he already bought it, how is he going to get a 20% discount?
Blacklabel
30 day money back guarantee if not fully satisfied with your purchase.
that’s how. They lied about what they were selling.
funkymofo
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Lacking class has little to do with being liberal or conservative.
Do you think poo emojis show class?
I thought the Democrat who called Trump a ‘Fascist, loofah-faced s##tgibbon’ lacked class. He also lacked originality.
Similarly, when Trump tweeted an unflattering picture of Ted Cruz’s wife next to a picture of his model wife, that lacked class.
The point stands up - ‘you can’t buy class’.
Desert Tortoise
Elon Musk might be the richest man in the world, on paper, but he doesn't have enough money to afford half the price to buy Twitter. He can't borrow enough against his stock options. He can't sell enough stock without driving the price down to the point the banks will call the loans he already has against his stock options for the simple reason that those stock options, the collateral on those loans, will become worth less than the value of the loans. He is looking to either drive the price of Twitter stock down so he can try to negotiate a lower price he can maybe afford or he will use this as an excuse to back out of the deal. He will try to blame everything on Twitter but the truth is he bit off more than he can chew financially. Then he'll spend days badmouthing Twitter, on Twitter.
Jimizo
No need to tag team it.
The point was made.
Desert Tortoise
Btw, as the parent of a very autistic little boy, Elon Musk's behaviors are consistent with those of someone who suffers from Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD for short. ASD kids can be extremely intelligent but their behaviors interfere with learning and interacting with others. Mr. Musk has publicly claimed to suffer from "Asperger's Syndrome" but today that is considered to be on the Autism Spectrum. Lack of self control, selfishness and lack of consideration for the feelings of others are classic symptoms of ASD. I live it every single day. Mr. Musk acts just like a brainy but Autistic kid.
bass4funk
Depends
If justified, sure.
First time hearing this from you.
I see.
That is a matter of opinion and who the person is that is supposed to be lacking in class. What may be classy to one person might be trashy to another, it all depends.
Strangerland
Twitter is so lame.
But studies have shown leftists are censored at a rate twice as much on social media as rightists are. The rightists may want to be careful about screaming for 'fairness', as if it becomes fair, it will be much worse on rightists.
They've also done tests to see which way the algorithms on Twitter point users if left unimpeded, and it's always to the right. Every platform's algorithm shows a strong bias to the right.
The people whining about Twitter censorship clearly haven't bothered to actually look into it. Which is par for the course for people who would use Twitter, then whine about it. Gotta be fairly low intelligence to care about Twitter.
bass4funk
What source or sources? What studies, which outlet stated this? When and where? What year? What are the specifics? How would you know how the algorithms work when Musk the billionaire, the richest man on the planet doesn't know? How would you know who looked into what? And how deep they looked and or what evidence they have.
MikeH
Musk is losing his mind at such an early age! At least with Trump he was such a knowledgeable, charismatic, visionary person in his younger and middle aged life and became a disaster after 70! With Musk it’s not going to take long for him to lose his brains!
Strangerland
I think Musk is just caught up in the same internet dopamine battles you see right across Twitter, as well as on this very site. Too bad a guy with enough money to do literally whatever he wants, is wasting time arguing on Twitter with "libs". Seems like a waste.
Desert Tortoise
No media outlet, whether Twitter, Fakebook, 4Chan or whatever is obliged by any law to honor free speech. The 1st Amendment only applies to the government. No level of government can a-priori censor speech. They cannot make subjects taboo. You cannot be punished for criticizing government policies, its organization or the people who lead it. But that same 1st Amendment protects the right of private firms including Twitter or any other social media to determine what is allowed to be posted on their site. Just as a newspaper is not obliged to publish your letter to the editor, Twitter, Fakebook and other social media are not obliged to allow your post, or to even allow you to post. They can say no. They have that right. They want customers like any other business. If their site becomes offensive they can lose customers. That right is protected by the 1st Amendment. But before you get angry or despair, that same 1st Amendment protects your right to set up your own social media and put out your own point of view. The right to free speech protects your right to say what you want but it does not and should not force a private firm to publish that which it objects to for any reason. They are a business, not the government.
Desert Tortoise
I don't know, he apparently doesn't have enough money to buy Twitter.
bass4funk
Not on this topic. I checked if I made a mistake and you didn’t. So if you can’t provide a source and you were just the usual angry a conservatives and wanted to vent, I get it. But don’t say things and then not being able or refuse to back them, doesn’t bolster your argument, if that was indeed your initial intention.
So then why aren’t more of them censored? Why isn’t the Ayatollah censored?
https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1526365823681576960?s=21&t=kdNnDSwI65afDYhoS4ZFmg
Ok, so you’re saying you want one side to be silenced and not allowed to have free speech. Well, that’s a very fascist point of view, interesting.
I see
And if they Deal eventually goes through I’ll do the same when all of these scared whiners leave their safe space cubicles.
bass4funk
That may seem so to you, if liberals were the ones being silent, really have a hard time to believe liberals wouldn’t whine, just food for thought. Fighting for free speech is never a waste of time. I’m just happy that liberals don’t have the power to shut him up.
painkiller
Just for review, the main reason liberals are whining:
Musk said he favored lifting the ban on Donald Trump, who was kicked off the platform in January 2021 shortly after the former US president's efforts to overturn his election defeat led to the January 6 assault on the US Capitol.
Desert Tortoise
As I wrote above, a private company including a social media company is under no obligation to post anything from anybody if they find it objectionable, or if they think doing so might drive customers away. Neither you nor I have any fundamental right to post anything we wish on a privately owned social media platform. There simply is no such right. It is their platform, not yours. You are a customer. If you don't follow their rules, or if you do or say things that might drive other customers away that social media platform has every right to refuse to post what you write. Why is this so hard to understand? The 1st Amendment actually protects their right to edit posts, remove posts and block posters who refuse to follow their rules. You don't make the rules, they do.
