As long as they stick to using Linux-servers for running Skype it will probably survive. If they somehow get the idea in their head to move everything over to Windows I can see Skype go the way Hotmail went after the acquisition by M$. It'll be braindead in a few years.

It'll be dead in a few years anyway.
Skype is popular, but it never made money for anybody.
And if it doesn't make money, it'll go the way of the dinosaur.
Or rather the Zune, that watch thingy, Windows tablets, Ultimate TV, Plays for Sure, Windows ME, Vista, Bob, Kin and a whole host of others.
