GOOD WORK HWA WEI.

My one year old Huawei is a disaster. Constant freezing and crashing. Cannot wait until this contract ends and go back to a real computer device...the iPhone.

By the way, four different systems control the phone and have access to everything, because if you do not allow them to even see your photos most apps won't work. 1. Google/Android 2. Huawei 3. Softbank 4.YMobile (Owned by softbank)...and the Avast anti-virus program as well...so five systems control my phone.

One can only hope that more events like this will cause Google to implode until we get actual privacy protecting options.

No offence, but I never understood this hype for Huawei. The "Leica-collab" cameras are really Sony sensors with fancy software and AI and Leica's logo on the back of the device. Their "EMUI" software is just horrible, and their built-in apps leave much to be desired. The Korean and the Japanese make much higher quality devices. Hell, if you're keen on buying a Chinese phone, at least go for a Xiaomi or something, at least their MIUI software works better and more consistently. But hey, that's just me.

For most people, with no Google Play Store apps, what are they gonna use it for? Just make phone calls and text and take photos? Isn't that what a flip-phone is for?

Go on with it, Hua Wei. I think so far I used Google Play Store three times because a site re-directed me there forcefully for a download, while I never use any of Google Drive and etc. cervices... Just the search engine on-line...

Tom... that is the battery. I had the same problem. I had that changed by a private service since here in Japan for the Hua Wei store it was too old and unsupported. 25$. Now it works flawlessly.

If you're going to buy a Chinese phone, I highly encourage you to read the user agreement. Nothing short of hilaricous. Like:

Must not use phone to cause unrest, or against the wishes of the communist party, and everything on the phone belongs to the phone company, including your photos and emails.

These are apparently required by law and are standard conditions mandated by the CCP. Not sure if it's even legal in Japan, but it's there.

Personally I wouldn't go near any Chinese phones until they have proven they can last and after sales etc work well. Its a risk and another potential huge issue is after sales value!

Sure Apple phones are expensive but you get a lot of money back when you sell it (compared to other phones). I doubt very much whether you will get much for a Huawei phone 2 years later .... my 2c worth

Harmony will end up being a major OS. Due to the popularity of Huawei worldwide people will get used to Harmony and will then rely on Chinese-built apps, eroding Google's market share and giving the Chinese companies and government more power.

Huawei P30 Lite Vs iPhone 8

P30 has a better camera!

Doesn’t crack when dropped from 5cm height!

Has 2 sim slots!

Does everything the iPhone can.

Except run the battery dead in half a day!

and gives you change from ¥31,000

So long Apple fan boys!

You do realize that there is a law in China stating that all Chinese businesses are require to hand over all information/data including their clients' upon request by the CCP.
