@garypen - you will first have to prove what information HiQ gave, directly led to your dismissal - which is going to be very difficult, if not financially impossible for the individual.
Different countries have different Personal Privacy Laws, and this is where HiQ possibly could fall afoul - to Linkedin we give permission of data retention for our personal details, but not to HiQ.

Strange. Under EU right to be forgotten laws publicly available information can be removed upon request.

If they provide erroneous data to your employer that gets you fired, you certainly can do something.
You can sue for libel, and win a great deal of money.

And who controls what HiQ can say about you to your own Company ? And if they supply erroneous data which gets you fired, what can you do about it ? .... Absolutely nothing!
