Good grief. Seriously? Is this a parody article?

I’m all for forward thinking, but we’ve got more efficient things to focus on before the year 3000, if ever.

Kerry is decades after-the-fact. ITER is an international nuclear fusion research and engineering megaproject aimed at creating energy through a fusion process started in 2007.

The ITER Members China, the European Union (through Euratom), India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United States

The US sponsors a number of other nuclear fusion efforts too. https://usiter.org/ https://www.ornl.gov/news/three-projects-accelerate-fusion-energy-development-awarded-ornl - 3 ORNL projects https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/us-announces-46-million-funds-eight-nuclear-fusion-companies-2023-05-31/ USgovt partially funding 8 fusion-centric companies

Yep, he's late. Typical govt - different parts don't know what other parts are doing.
