Hmmm... interesting. I'd still be concerned about the lag time, and about teledrivers watching porn instead of concentrating on the road. At least with a human in the driver's seat they've got real skin in the game.

Anyone know offhand what the safety record was during testing? Of particular interest interest, does it have an occasionally uncomfortable AI propensity to run into stationary objects, emergency vehicles, and pedestrians, unlike other driverless brands?
