If you ban everything that people misuse, there would be nothing left. Omegle is just the low-hanging fruit. Over the next few years most of what you use online will vanish. Enjoy it whilst you can. The bad guys always win in the end.

Not sure how they could sue and win based on that, in that case any device/app used for communication could be sued if a crime happened after using their device/app to communicate, basically most crimes. But I guess they blame the random algorithm and because of it they are seen as the matchmaker.

They won due to Omegle not verifying the participants' ages - they just let the 11-yr-old in

Surprised that it took this long, the company long profited from putting at risk some of their users and failed to take effective measures even in the middle of countless complains.

Omegle hackers and pranksters were quite hilarious on YouTube. Jump scares, friendly communication and talented people artfully playing instruments, it was all over the place, but it wont be remembered for that.
