The Webb telescope is a 1990's project. It was first named "The Next Generation space telescope" and after repeated delays, was renamed the Webb telescope in 2002. If this project is that delayed, someone wanted it to be and we will never see it work unless it has been successfully hobbled, and we probably won't see it work AT ALL. I am sure enough to say the chance is 100.00 percent.

Here's hoping!

Sincerely hope all goes well for both the launch and deployment. A very complex piece of kit and made more difficult by the need to origami it in to the limited space available in a rocket shroud.

What we may discover if all goes well, should be as ground breaking as was the Hubble telescope in its day.

Better safe than sorry.
