World Wide Web turns 25 years old

I remember the first time I got on the net, man what a rush. But, that was back in the days of 300 Baud Hayes Modems and generic AT modem string. Man I miss those days!

Anyone here ever use GEnie? My monthly bill with them ran around $300.00+ per month. But, I had a great time using them. Great roundtable discussions. If you have to ask, well then you just don't know.

CompuServe, Gopher, Archie, Web crawlers, free AOL floppy disks, 300 baud modems with a red manual "connect" button... When my grandkids get older, I'll brag to them that I'm older than the Arpanet and blow their minds.

Sure Jean, the NSA, CIA will be the biggest threat not AL Qaeda, or any other crazies who may or may have not blown up this Malaysian plane en route from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China. So happy birthday INTERNET and let us all not worry about crazies like the fool who was posting how he wanted to smash a jet plane into the Sky Tree but he settled with stabbing 4 innocent people out in Kashiwa, Chiba.

The NSA and their ilk are the biggest threat to the Internet.

We are entering into a new era of human exploration into solar development; as case in point of the ISS and the eventual settlement of Mars and Luna in the next half century. How will the world wide web evolve as we are not dealing with a single world, but we are dealing with multiply worlds (worlds wide webs)?
