Apple is fine and so are Androids sold through reputable outlets like Best Buy. The other person cited Snowden claiming that Android phones are no good and they all syphon all your data to Chinese servers (then I found another Snowden quote not to buy Apple which means just use a Flip phone). My concern is online and I won't do any online financial transactions on any portable device (iPhone, Android, anything) and I do those on my Laptop and Desktop with 2FA instead.

I tell people all the time to buy Apple note PCs when they ask for advice and they often don't and buy Windows instead since Macs are becoming less practical for the real world. Yes, powerful, but in many ways less practical unless you are some rich dude who travels all the time and want the latest and greatest without practical features for the real world. You can't even stick a LAN cable and HDMI in the new ones.

If I were rich then I would buy the new iPhone and Mac Note PC every time it comes out (but of course still have Windows and Android stuff). Isn't that a compliment? I would also buy BMWs, Teslas, and all that.

If you are a criminal you are better off using a Laptop with non-hardware based encryption like Veracrypt. I would not trust an iPhone or Android phone if I were a criminal.

You seem to be all over the place. Not once have you proven that Apple is unsafe to use compared to the Chinese manufacturers. And every time someone ask for evidence you start talking about PCs.

Does Apple own the App? Or is the App own by a third party developer that has that App on both Apple and Android? Seems like the problem lies with the third-party developer not Apple specifically. If the guy hand an Android phone it would have still happened because of the App.

Once again, do you have information that China was not hacking and stealing personal information through the products they produce despite the tons of evidence to prove that they do?

Undetectable "rootkits" on Apple phones would require a zero-day vulnerability, and these vulnerabilities can be worth $1 million or more on the open market. Companies like Zerodium will purchase them, but widespread use of such vulnerabilities “burns” them, making it more likely that Apple will learn of their existence and apply fixes.

Every time you update your Apple software it automatically deletes the hack, virus, or "rootkit". There ecosystem make hacks almost nonexistent.

So the conversation is about Apple, but Nishikat keeps talking about PCs as evidence.

Apple products are the least hacked out of all of the mainstream brands for the average consumer.

The safest products like Edward Snowden recommends have very few convenient features for the average consumer.

Is good that other companies are catching up. Fierce competition help drive market prices down between companies. This way Apple will no longer get away with selling ridiculous prices for their products. Phones should never be that expensive for any person.

I got a Xiaomi via Amazon US for under $200. It takes excellent photos, which is what I use it for mostly.

It’s like everything else made in China - cheap & nasty.

Two friends of mine have both had to get their phones replaced due to various problems.

they both admit they only bought them because they were cheap.

I've been using Xiaomi since 2016. The phones are so cheap I can switch every year or two and three quality is decent. The only issue is MiUI which I'm used to but not so keen on.
