Not once have you proven that Apple is unsafe to use compared to the Chinese manufacturers

Apple is fine and so are Androids sold through reputable outlets like Best Buy. The other person cited Snowden claiming that Android phones are no good and they all syphon all your data to Chinese servers (then I found another Snowden quote not to buy Apple which means just use a Flip phone). My concern is online and I won't do any online financial transactions on any portable device (iPhone, Android, anything) and I do those on my Laptop and Desktop with 2FA instead.

I tell people all the time to buy Apple note PCs when they ask for advice and they often don't and buy Windows instead since Macs are becoming less practical for the real world. Yes, powerful, but in many ways less practical unless you are some rich dude who travels all the time and want the latest and greatest without practical features for the real world. You can't even stick a LAN cable and HDMI in the new ones.

If I were rich then I would buy the new iPhone and Mac Note PC every time it comes out (but of course still have Windows and Android stuff). Isn't that a compliment? I would also buy BMWs, Teslas, and all that.

despite the tons of evidence to prove that they do?

Like what? My hair cut appointment? Are we talking about reputable Android phones sold through the likes of Best Buy or garbage phones sold on Alibaba? What does the Chinese government do with my haircut appointment details?

Does Apple own the App?

No, but they approved it.

Second, do you have evidence to show that Apple is more unsecure than the products that are produce by Chinese manufacturers?

If you are a criminal you are better off using a Laptop with non-hardware based encryption like Veracrypt. I would not trust an iPhone or Android phone if I were a criminal.

@Nishikat

You hate anything not Apple or you just hate Xiaomi? I use Yubikey to help stay safe with all devices. People get scammed with Apple too like the guy who lost over half a million crypto on the approved Trezor App. Anything not Apple all your stuff gets syphoned to China servers? What does China do with my boring information like my shopping lists? But as Snowden says....you should not trust devices that have convenient features and this includes Apple....since they have convenient features

The government can hack your iPhone like a criminal to track you

(Snowden)

Apple is bad news and Snowden agrees

You seem to be all over the place. Not once have you proven that Apple is unsafe to use compared to the Chinese manufacturers. And every time someone ask for evidence you start talking about PCs.

Does Apple own the App? Or is the App own by a third party developer that has that App on both Apple and Android? Seems like the problem lies with the third-party developer not Apple specifically. If the guy hand an Android phone it would have still happened because of the App.

Once again, do you have information that China was not hacking and stealing personal information through the products they produce despite the tons of evidence to prove that they do?

Second, do you have evidence to show that Apple is more unsecure than the products that are produce by Chinese manufacturers?

You seem to be changing topics instead of answering these specific questions!

Undetectable "rootkits" on Apple phones

NEC Laptops? They are owned by Lenovo now. Also, China could put in an undetectable rootkit in iPhone then all your info goes to the Chinese servers. Are iPhones really safe? And also Fujitsu and NEC PCs are owned by the Chinese now.

Undetectable "rootkits" on Apple phones would require a zero-day vulnerability, and these vulnerabilities can be worth $1 million or more on the open market. Companies like Zerodium will purchase them, but widespread use of such vulnerabilities “burns” them, making it more likely that Apple will learn of their existence and apply fixes.

Every time you update your Apple software it automatically deletes the hack, virus, or "rootkit". There ecosystem make hacks almost nonexistent.

So the conversation is about Apple, but Nishikat keeps talking about PCs as evidence.

Talk about "red herrings".

You and everyone else know that Apple have protocols in place within their ecosystem to overcome Chinese hacking even at the manufacture level.

@Nishikat

Better stay away from the iPhone then

You and everyone else know that Apple have protocols in place within their ecosystem to overcome Chinese hacking even at the manufacture level.

Apple products are the least hacked out of all of the mainstream brands for the average consumer.

The safest products like Edward Snowden recommends have very few convenient features for the average consumer.

Sorry I should have said NEC Laptops since they are owned by China now

Chinese products and software.

Even Elon Musk (quite a smart person) says that there is no point doing this since China does not care about anyone. Also Android is open source and is audited anyway before it is sold through the likes of Walmart and Best Buy. And iPhones are also made in China.

Musk success was paved with a lot of stupid and foolish nonsense. Most people just focus on the successful ideas.

Even Elon Musk (quite a smart person) says that there is no point doing this since China does not care about anyone.

That statement right there shows that his thinking about money because that has been proven to be false countless times with all the hacking and backdoors found in Chinese products and software.

And all of your personal info, such as GPS location, phone number, IMEI, e-mail and message text, is being sent to Chinese intelligence agency servers.

Is good that other companies are catching up. Fierce competition help drive market prices down between companies. This way Apple will no longer get away with selling ridiculous prices for their products. Phones should never be that expensive for any person.

In 2012, it was found that a free software, made by a Chinese company (BAIDU), to convert keyboard typing to Japanese was sending user's key press information to the company's server in China.

I have never used Chinese software or hardware ever since.

@samitbasu

well indeed enemy soldiers with smartphones, would be a security risk, they’ve probably been told not to take selfie’s with road signs in the background

@Chibakun

Who cares? I mean what are they going to do with it?

This is to identify VIPs for hacking and surveillance. If you are a person working at government buildings, research labs, and military base, then you are a prime target.

Indian troops on China border told to format smartphones, delete 42 apps

New Delhi: Troops posted on the China border have been told to format their smartphones and delete a number of apps that intelligence agencies have found to be detrimental to national security due to possible links to Chinese hackers.

@Chibakun - just of note, it’s been confirmed that Oneplus have been slowing down their phones to protect the battery like Apple was found to be doing.

Having said I might get a Pixel/OnePlus next since I'm tired of MIUI OS.

I got a Xiaomi via Amazon US for under $200

I got a Xiaomi via Amazon US for under $200. It takes excellent photos, which is what I use it for mostly.

It’s like everything else made in China - cheap & nasty.

Two friends of mine have both had to get their phones replaced due to various problems.

they both admit they only bought them because they were cheap.

Boycott cheap China !

I've been using Xiaomi since 2016. The phones are so cheap I can switch every year or two and three quality is decent. The only issue is MiUI which I'm used to but not so keen on.
