With more built-in feature of Xoom, Motorola has come back to gain back its customers.

Xoom will surely sell, specially to people not wanting to become Apple drones...

I feel apple produts are most like japanese products than other foreigner company. It is that they are best quality and design. People who hate apple do it because of desire of individuality only, so they are foolish

So where are the Japanese good products to match Apple? Sony is almost dead in innovation.Fujitsu and Toshiba also lagging. Japanese electronics are good quality but they lack anything innovative that will lead the world, same in automobiles. Followers not leaders.

That's a bizarre perspective. Apple and Sony are a study of stark contrasts. In approach and style, Apple has very little in common with other such Japanese dinosaurs as Hitachi, Panasonic, Sanyo, etc., which were unable to adapt to the IT revolution.

The Xoom is well-equipped, with a large, vivid touch screen and zippy processor.

Man, this writing is bad

the Xoom and the iPad appear pretty similar: Both are thin, shiny slabs,

Seriously writer? That is a buying point?

{big long article response because JT only give a cryptic "not posted because it contains potentially offensive content." WTF?}

Another article I read has stated that Motorola will get around to releasing the Xoom in Japan late April some time. However, it will be WiFi only, no 3G. Contrast that with the iPad 2 which is expected March 25th.

Other articles have mentioned that, while nice, the Xoom feels like a first gen product and was rushed out the door to get it to market before the iPad 2 hit the streets.

No flash yet, no good yet for the more internationally minded.

Wrong time to launch Xoom. People are iLining in front of Apple stores to buy Ipad2. And the recent frank comment from Samsung's President Lee Don-Joo that Galaxy is "inadequate" in comparison to Ipad2 makes it hard to other tablets to compete with Apple. By the way, what an ugly name for a product, "xoom". No wonder Apple is in a win-win situation.

I'm sorry for those "Andoroido-Lovers" but the truth is that if you have and iPad1 or 2, plus a Jailbreak, you can Kick in the 4SS those Android Products, Apple Rules no matter what you people say!!

As Jobs himself said, while all the other companies desperately scramble for their first generation tablets, Apple comes out with its newest. Xoom may be the 'first real competitor', but only at next to zero percent. Buying a Xoom would be like buying a Sega Game Gear.

Too bad these things don't have user-replaceable batteries

Rated for 10 hours of video or 9 hours of 3G browsing but the writer only got 6 hours of youtube (does that count as a video/3g hybrid test?)

How does this compare to the ipad?

Well, perhaps the Xoom 2 will be a better competitor with Apple.
