About time, Yahoo's the worst email service with more spam than one can imagine. Switched to Gmail a long time ago, I'm luving my Gmail!

New version doesn't support Chrome, which is just stupid.

I just turned the Beta version off. Talk about glitches. It was fast when it worked, but when it did not it was frustrating. I would make a copy of every mail I planned to send, because half the time, it did not go and you could not retrieve it.

Don't worry. Facebook will roll out e-mail services and telephony over IP. You wait and see.

I wouldn't trust Facebook with my e-mail: they would soon be selling it to all and sundry. I keep personal mail on my own server so I can decide what happens to it and not some foreign business.

Most of those email accounts are spam or throw-away accounts anyways, haha!

Too late Yahoo. Years of being spammed led me away from you 3 years ago!

Pardon? Chrome is complete rubbish, just another gimmick to get pea-brained net users to initiate more clicks!

Same here. Gmail solved all my email needs. Yahoo and Hotmail are so retro.

I tried the new version on several computers several times over the past year and I have to admit that it really was SLOWER, glitchier, and tended to freeze up on me in ways that the current Yahoo Mail does not.

What about Yahoo Japan mail? Gotta be one of the slooowest sites on the Net.

Chrome is very fast. I generally use Firefox but I use Chrome on one of my computers. It's nice.

i've used all of the browsers, and chrome is easily my favourite. firefox went off the boil a few years ago and started getting bloated. safari is pretty nice, but lacks the customisation options of chrome. IE may be getting better but is still wanted for its past crimes against humanity

Pff, Yahoo lost the email wars a long time ago. I have a gmail account and a yahoo account, and I know which one I prefer for my professional mail use. I get almost no spam to my gmail because I don't sign up with it for anything at all that isn't important, and it loads pretty quick. And it's got built in video chat and online chat. And nothing else. No popup ads, no unnecessary 'front page' that I'm always going to click straight past, and the login page is nice and empty. Going to yahoo, on the other hand, the only way to get to my mail is to click a tiny text box to 'Mail' that they clearly try to hide amongst all the crap, then put in my details, then load the useless splash page that contains nothing of any value, and THEN I can get to my mail. It's not a hardship but it's just poor design in action.

I also like Chrome and it IS much faster than IE, which becomes apparent on using older computers. I now use Chrome only for my internet usage. I'm also happy with my hotmail account that I've had like forever.

I couldn't agree more.

I have Yahoo plus for $20 a year. I can make up to 500 email addresses on teh fly and if spam comes back to one of them, I write a screw you letter to the bad guys, then erase that email address. Very easy to do.

If Yahoo mail had any brains, they would know that it needs to be compatible not only for the I phones, I pads etc..but to interact with SKYPE or try to make it a rival, not only emails, but to be able to make free telephone calls anywhere in the world from say Yahoo Messenger and from your I phones, oops, smartphones, makes things real nice right??

I like to use Chrome, firefox was slow and never opened for me and I refuse to use safari. I use yahoo but I never look at it on the computer, only on my iPod unless I need to send an attachment. I turned the beta on with the new update and it seems fine to me but I will have to get used to it.
