Surely content reviewing can be done by working at home! I do it every day.

Shhh! They need an excuse to help manipulate the election. Just another couple months.

About a third of all the videos removed in the quarter were done so for endangering child safety

How about adult safety? Many adults have no idea what’s going on.

Youtube is a pretty boring site now a days. It's just full of reviews and how to videos. That's good but I'm already starting to go to other video sites that allow more content. I didn't start using YouTube when it first came out because I wanted to be baby sat.

Google-owned YouTube has become a quagmire. Hardly any offensive videos posted by BLM, Antifa or other extreme left sources get taken down, likewise the countless false narrative nonsense from the so-called "progressives".

However, tons of informative musical content, of the educational nature, is quickly taken down just for mentioning certain performers or song titles.

I've had some of my own music how-to-play-xxxxxx song videos taken down only because I included the song/group name in the titles.

Fortunately, new apps and sites are sprouting to counter the CENSORSHIP that many people encounter today.

Freedom is Slavery, according to such "moderators" of content/opinion.

Don't even speak about Black people, once again, raising the alarm on how whites are engaged in human rights abuses. Of course, that is offensive to some idiots, especially to some whites who feel their voices are the only voices that matter. Racism and stupid people bore me. The rest of the world is on to your clown show.

YouTube will atrophy over time due to its weird "rules" and the rise of other more open and inclusive sites.

Covid-19 attacks massively the brains....In addition to the economic consequences of the virus pandemic many companies , or better let’s say almost all, attack now their business models voluntarily. YouTube is not outstanding or unique in this, but in ‘good’ society....lol

Why would it be - who are these progressives and what is so dangerous that you feel it needs censorship?

However, tons of informative musical content, of the educational nature, is quickly taken down just for mentioning certain performers or song titles.

Unfortunately it falls under copyright infringement. A how-to video shouldn't, but that's the fault of the algorithm and hopefully the appeals process will sort it.

Fortunately, new apps and sites are sprouting to counter the CENSORSHIP that many people encounter today.

But you appear to be calling for censorship of BL. and "progressives". Make up your mind.

Depends how long and how much can those other sites withstand losing money

Remember, in order to reach where it is now, Youtube was losing a lot of money (they may still be losing a lot of money now)

Anybody who wants to challenge Youtube's position would be losing a lot of money too. Providing free, high-resolution, fast-loading videos all over the world cost a lot of money - those servers, data storage, and bandwidth ain't free

There has been some sites that have no value whatsoever - some had false suicide pranks by immature kids, some had real suicides, some encouraged suicides and some had hate propaganda. I saw a video there once that promoted the idea of 'Islamic spread' / 'invasion' in Europe as if Islam were a race. And even if the subject was about 'race' in Europe, it was still a fascist hate site. We don't need this crap, none of it.

I like to listen to new CDs on Youtube, 'try before you buy' and sometimes a movie or old TV. You Tube is good for all that.
