WADA can be trusted. About half their decision making seats are held by the IOC.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) says it will trial the use of dried blood spot testing at the Tokyo Olympics, an innovative new technique hailed as a potential "game-changer" in the fight against drug cheats.

Because in this pandemic Olympics with coronavirus cases peaking in time with the games the foremost medical challenge is not vaccination or ensuring that mutant strains of the virus do not spread but "catching drug cheats".

Probably aimed at the usual suspects China and Russia.

This will make NO difference at all. Testing at the event is pointless. The drugs are used out of competition, and are out of the athletes system during the games. A better move would be to change the rule that athletes have to miss THREE random tests before punishment. So if the testers come calling and the athlete is "glowing" with illegal performance enhancing drugs, they just hide and don't answer the door. The Theraputic use exemption is also widely abused where athletes get a doctor to sign off that they "need" the drug for a health reason.

With almost no out of competition testing done due to covid lock downs, the Tokyo Olympics will be the most drug aided in history.

And who is going to be doing all the testing? How were they able to make holes in walls and swap specimens at Sochi?

I guess some athletes haven't been made aware of the Olympic creed: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well". damn! another illusion shattered. (^_-)

In other words, you can dope yourself with anything and as much as you like, but you have to come this year. We , your managing mafia, need some more athletes to show up and at least some usually unreachable records to celebrate too. lol

The IOC is totally against all drug cheating that enhances performance. The majority of athletes perform clean in the spirits of the sport. Those found doping or attempting to beat the drug tests will be punished severely including bans from all sanctioned events.

The use of any performance enhancing drug at any stage of your athletic career should result in an immediate ban forthwith and no future chance of inclusion within competitive events. Though the enormity of this, should require a proper and thorough investigation into the situation and have results which can not be challenged/questioned reviewed and agreed upon.
