I'm actually beginning to like the Morisaurus.

Real men never look down on women.

... for being women.

There can be other reasons to look down on them.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Just an old FART too old to a man.

Real men never look down on women.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

At his age, what do you expect ???

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

They should just give this guy a couple of maru one cup sake, a live mic, and a live video feed across the country, and let him rip.

It should make for one glorious final blaze of glory before he's gone. Call it, The Mori Roast on Japan.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Glad this is all coming out.

For some unfathomable reason many foreign people believe that Japan is the land of the future when in actual fact it is the opposite.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Who really cares?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

A chauvinist is always a chauvinist, don't expect him to change overnight.

Let the rising wave of feminism (if it is already happening) in Japan deal with him accordingly..

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

And he's too old to call you human.

Typo: And he's too old to be called human.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

And he's too old to call you human.

Anyone who wanted the Olympics to be cancelled would have almost wanted him to stay. Kiss of death, that old thing is.

Such people should be kept on a leash,. They may fall down stairs.

I know of plenty of old people who can be very difficult sometimes and normally you should just considered what come out of their mouth as air and not take it seriously.

I disagree. You’re saying to ignore it when speaking up against it is what’s needed and what led to Mori’s replacement.

Not taking it seriously, as you suggested, is what angers people.

Soul, the other the base of one shoe.....

Keep 'em coming, Mori

"There's an old lady in Mr Kawamura's room. She's too old to call a woman," Mori, a former prime minister, said at a Tokyo party hosted by Kawamura.

Yoshiro Mori, former president of the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee, is a embarrassment to the LDP, Mori unfortunately is far from lonesome as a systematic chronic gaffe-o-holic.

It is the people that vote this foolish men/women into Government must do some sole searching.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Lamilly is right in that what Mori said was much more offensive than the "women talk too much" anodyne reported version. He basically said women were all attention seekers who had to speak up but had nothing to contribute. Any woman in a meeting with Mori is an elite and highly successful woman. This includes Koike and Hashimoto.

Anyway, this latest remark just confirms what he is like and denies the "just an old man with harmless opinions" version his (LDP) supporters tried to trot out.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If a person is too old to be called " a woman" what can we call waspish old Mori then at 83? Whatever, "woke" is one word that would never come to mind.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I love reading about this guy Mori. He makes me laugh. What comes out of his mouth is absurdly offensive - a bit like Trump. He'll be gone soon too I guess.

> The man is a fossil!!

Hope your grand parents live to a nice old age so you can tell them to their face they are fossils too.

Old people are still people !

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

There are a number of things this preposterous pantaloon is not too old to call.

Remember a few weeks ago, when he was "too important to fire"? When the Olympics would collapse without his wisdom?

Well he took his payoff, the grift goes on, and he still doesn't have the nous to keep his hoary, sake-staind gob shut.

And we are supposed to keep paying him for input like this?

Can this parasite. What a loathsome old tool he is. Every time he opens his draw he makes Japan look worse. Why are we paying him?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

He likes hearing the sound of his own voice, and he feels secure in the knowledge that some people from his power base will come up to him afterwards and tell him that they fully agree, and to ignore any noisy criticism from round about.

Of course when he gets home he will be in for another severe tongue lashing from his wife and daughter.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Keep on stepping down, down, down... No amore lost for Mori.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

83, please go retire on a beach somewhere

8 ( +10 / -2 )

He still holds sway at Nagatcho, that's why just replacing him with Hashimoto proved to be only a show. He doesn't care and those around him won't call him out. His type of thinking is deeply embedded and no matter how many female faces you put up, the power brokers are still the same ol' geezers. Japan still has a long way to go.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

We know that the human brain has lost a lot of plasticity by then. It's just reckless to have a guy like that holding any position other than batton-waver in a carpark...

8 ( +10 / -2 )

"Too old"..... There's a hint in there somewhere Mr Mori.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Pot calling the kettle black..

The man is a fossil!!

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Mori directed this towards a political opponent, has already be removed from any position that could further his legacy, and the olympics are going down bad. Seeing he had nothing to lose, he gave his opinion. Was it a valid or useful one? Meh, it got armchairs talking about him again.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I guess that would mean Mori is too old to be called a man?

20 ( +21 / -1 )

@Hiro

well said!

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Dude really must love the taste of his own feet!

15 ( +16 / -1 )

The guy is 83. Most of these old people are very stubborn and can't changes their ways. If you suddenly expect him to change his view concerning women or speak differently, then you might as well hope for flying pigs. I know of plenty of old people who can be very difficult sometimes and normally you should just considered what come out of their mouth as air and not take it seriously.

This old man is clearly a example of a person who keep shooting himself in the foot but he can't help it. I think he meant it as a joke which it's not appropriate in modern time standard but he himself doesn't know he is wrong for saying it.

I work in a office and sometimes during guys conversation, there are occasionally cruel jokes like these just for a little laugh that would be not appreciated if the females heard about it. But this old man really need to shut up when he is in front of a camera.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Idiot.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

Mori, at 83 years old himself...

15 ( +18 / -3 )

The man needs a very deep sleep, to reflect on a lifetime of.....nothing really.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Mori is offensive full stop.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

Mori, 83, directed the comment toward a staff member of Liberal Democratic Party lawmaker Takeo Kawamura.

As a member of the Nikai group, Kawamura is also an unpopular politician. He will lose the next election. Mori's gaffe contributes further to pulling down his legs.
