Even some Kpop idols are so good at it, Bora (Sistar) and Tzuyu (Twice), although latter is Taiwanese.

There is also full rollercoaster action movie about archery (2011) War of the Arrows.

There is no need for magical explanations, at the end any sport that has huge amount of support in a country is bound to produce athletes of better quality and abilities. If other countries had the infrastructure to push archery in the same degree as South Korea their dominance would not be so absolute.

With the exception of archery, is South Korea dominate in any other sport?

You’d have to expect them to do well in Taekwondo.

@Some dude

You’d have to expect them to do well in Taekwondo.

Actually no, they only won 2 out of 8 Golds in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Koreans went extra length to appear that they do not dominate in Taekwondo, in order to ensure Taekwondo stays on the Olympic sport permanently and build up many backers, like Taiwan(For Taiwan, Taekwondo is basically the only sport they can realistically aim for Gold), China, UK, Iran, etc.

Japan on the other hand is inexperienced in sports diplomacy and is looking to sweep the Golds in Karate in order to boost Japan's medal count, and this is why Karate is a one-time Olympic sport, never to return in future Olympics.
