I’m surprised to see that huge banners are allowed on the athletes’ balconies — particularly in the windy Harumi area, where this athletes’ village is located. One of those banners could blow off, wrap around the head of someone strolling down below, and cause them to walk blindly into a utility pole.

Lucky so many do not stay there. The athletes sightseeing around Katase Enoshima freely and not masked was a site to see yesterday. So many people had their jaws dropped and gasping.

Farce, which the Japanese tax payer will be paying for, for 30 years.

Three Taekwondo members of a country I will not name were visiting a famous temple here in Kansai yesterday. They were masked but had their team tracksuits on.

A response to another wave of infections driven by the virus' more contagious Delta variant

The same was said of the U.K variant that ended being weaker in Tokyo and surrounding prefectures

than the seasonal flu. When it comes to Tokyo the delta variant will suffer the same fate as the U.K

variant. More contagious everywhere on the planet but not Tokyo and to an extend the country as a

whole. Well may be it is due to that x-factor that nobody has yet to back with real data.

Keep that so-called ‘safe bubble’ closed, barr entry completely and stop those damned games as well es deny further entry. Show the few athletes that are already here after the quarantine some sightseeing spots as a little thankful bonus and that’s it. Enough is enough, cannot you interpret the further daily rising numbers as they should to be interpreted? Unbelievable, such stubborn irresponsible behavior.

And the Olympic prison is now open for business!

They are then required to leave the site within two days after their events finish.

Notice this doesn't say they have to leave Japan. This means they can be out and about, traveling throught Japan. Nice work Gov't!

Jetlagged athletes competing in mid-summer Tokyo with no fans present.? I'll give this one a miss.

Kyodo sinking into naked propaganda mode here.

No mention in the article that Japanese workers at the Biohazard Village have tested positive, or that they broke protocols by eating with other Village workers. Blame the foreigners in full swing as the horrorshow plumbs new depths every day.

@Alfie Noakes

Kyodo sinking into naked propaganda mode here.

Not surprising as this Undokai must be shown in positive light - another similar article published today where NewZealand rowing team member are talking how great Japan hospitality is (link below)

Point to note - in the end the standard question come through - what do you like about Japan?

Some things will never change...

Welcome athletes to the olympic village, where you know in your heart this is the wrong thing to be here but your dream of is Gold is greater, where you face an increased risk of of catching the virus, (and you signed away all your responsibility to this to yourself) and where you are staying in a lock downed bubble village on cardboard beds without your usual condom supply!

Translation: The Olympia variant is coming soon!

Don't even joke about saying stuff like that. Some on here will start to think that is possible.

This is important! Those athletes need to be told that the people they may meet have not been tested and likely not vaccinated!

It's not like it is back home.
