How about no Olympics at all.

Mechanic: Your whole suspension needs replacing. This car is unsafe to drive.

“fear monger!”

Surgeon: Fortunately we found it early. An immediate operation is necessary.

“fear monger!”

LOL, In May it was Olympics or not , then it was Olympics but no fans and restrictions, now its Olympics with fans but no orgies .. By July the 25-th it will probably be Olympics and everything that goes with it.

Logic would dictate of they go ahead with this farce of an Olympics, they will limit it to VIPs and domestic spectators. All of whom will need to show proof of vaccination prior to attending.

Logic would also dictate that holding an Olympics in the middle of a global pandemic of a highly infectious airbourne virus is a stupid idea . . . .

How about no Olympics?

The games are going ahead regardless of your opinion, the hard work of changing hearts and minds was done well.

Nonsense. The Hearts and minds were just ignored. As mentioned above, the majority of volunteers will not be vaccinated or tested and will be using public transport.

Drop the act.

Had to look this 'monger' word in the dictionary, being called a fear monger several times a day on this forum as a supporter of the Games' postponement. Was surprised to see it is a synonym for merchant or dealer.

I believe all people opposing the Olympics this year have absolutely nothing to sell. Zero financial interest in the Games taking place or not.

That cannot be said from the IOC obviously, but also the J government, the sponsors (including many mainstream J media), Dentsu and other advertising agencies, and maybe one or two posters here that I believe are on the IOC payroll.

Hope and expectations do not make a plan ffs.

Hashimoto warned there could be penalties for anyone who breaks strict rules around the Tokyo Games. She did not say what they would be and said this was still under discussion.

Maybe they will be subjected to Strict Disapproval.

“Dr. Shigeru Omi would issue a report next week that warns about the risks of having fans.”

Anyone want to take bets on a newspaper headline along the lines of “Dr. Shigeru Omi mysteriously disappears just before Olympics due to start”?

Forget about the spectators - Dont know which world these jokers are living - 70% of volunteers - who will come daily in contact with atheletes and Japanese public (including own families) will NOT be vaccinated before Olympics as per latest report o Asahi (link below)

http://www.asahi.com/sp/ajw/articles/14370996

what good is their bubble when these volunteers use public transport and go back to their families everyday?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Still nothing from Governor Koike, the host of the Games!

She's prone to disappearing at difficult decision times.

Tokyo Olympics still undecided on fans -- or no fans at all

Not even at all, that's more save for public.

“We don’t want people to move much,”

....except to travel to Osaka and Tōkyō to get vaxxed.... (⌒▽⌒)

There's still plenty of time. It's not as if the Olympics are a few weeks away. Meetings, looking into things, surveys, considering things... You can have so many meetings in a year! Lets just chill.

Oh wait...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

*Perhaps* @ffs 12:37pm, you’re overlooking today’s impromptu “poll” sponsored by @OlympicSupport 6:53 am?

- “Open up to EVERYONE! Time to show the fear mongers that they are wrong!” =

a “ -23( +3 / -26 ) “ as of 12:30pm!

*- falseflagsteve 12:37pm: “Good to see less negativity(?) towards the games.*

How about no Olympics?

Look, they've been pumping money into the Olympics all year, even though it was put on hold for 1 full year. If they cancelled the Olympics now, their main and probably the only argument would be "But this way the money put into it is completely wasted" and the like. Well, exactly. They couldn't make a decision last year (whether it was FOR or AGAINST) so they kept it in some kind of void and preferred to pour money into it. And only after a year they decided (after more than a year!) that there would be an Olympiad.

Japan Finalizes Plans for Olympics: We’re Winging It

With the Olympics five weeks out Japan announces their final plan. “After several rounds of consideration, we are considering just winging it” says one Japanese offial, unsure of who’s running of this show, “after careful considerion of the urgency of The Games, the threat of COVID-19, and timelines required to properly propose a decision, we have decided to go with the flow. Simply, there has not been enough time for meetings.”

One representative close to the governing body refused to comment on how or if Japan officials will know what they’re were doing. “I assure the public we are working 15 hour days, 7 days a week, to reach consensus on who can make decisions and what decisions should be made. I stake my own lack of accountability on someone delivering a proper apology to the IOC before I resign. Residence and visitors alike, should rest assured.”

Perhaps you misinterpreted, @ffsteve 12:56pm.

“The games are going ahead regardless of your opinion,” -

NO opinion was given, …just an observation.

Enjoy the Games,… IF You choose.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Make no mistake. Suga and Koike will fill the stands with their fat-cat donors, relatives, Dentsu executives and others who were secretly allowed to skip to the front of the vaccination line ahead of the rest of us.

@everyone I also see that on the weekends there are not many comments. During the week this thread would be blown up by now. This tells me all the posters are in the working class, slaving for "the man". Stop the cycle!

I see your logical skills are as strong as your reasoning and deduction.

Not apprehensive or worried @ffs 1:17pm however, slightly concerned about the ‘downvotes’ of simple ‘observations’ like @7:20 am:

“Perhaps Mr. Suga’s overseas, ‘working(?) on rallying an audience and perhaps, some VIP spectators right now?” -

Are those downvotes reflections of the possible, majority’s doubtfulness of the IOCLDPJOC’s abilities?

One ‘peculiarity’ noted @antmn 2:56pm, is that this current wave of Olympic Support only began since Jun 3 ‘21. Subsequently, there was a wave of media articles on a variety of topics related to the perceived benefits benefits of athleticism, sports days, etc.

Please stop the Olympics, save human lives.

Fans -- or no fans at all

I’ll take be fully vaccinated instead, for 100 Alex.

That’s what people care about.

No one cares if you have fans or no fans for the Olympics. Do whatever you guys are gonna do, just do it. Not one person could care any less.

Just hurry up with the vaccines!

How about no Olympics at all.

Please appeal to the IOC. The host Tokyo/Japan has no authority over it. Seems, it has already passed no point of return...

Open up to EVERYONE! Time to get this show going and show the fear mongers that they are wrong!

Who postponed the Olympics last year?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Perhaps Mr. Suga’s overseas, ‘working(?) on rallying an audience and perhaps, some VIP spectators right now.?

Snowy

i did post 2 weeks ago that the media would be promoting the Olympics and the benefits it brings etc. The media stories will grow in intensity now so as to increase support for the games by providing the facts regarding safety etc.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Fans please

i am hoping the games will unite us all now Covid is on the way out and even chaps like you who are a bit apprehensive about them will also enjoy. It’s time to all move on now and I expect the successful games will trigger the resumption of normality worldwide

Snowy

Down votes on a site do not in anyway reflect public opinion. The world is in favour of the games. In fact yesterday Boris gave his full support and that of the British people to Mr Suga. Expect the other world leaders to follow.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Good to see less negativity towards the games now as people realise they will go ahead and understand they will be safe.I expect there will be limited spectators allowed, announcement will be made in about 10 days

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Snowy

The games are going ahead regardless of your opinion, the hard work of changing hearts and minds was done well. Unless there’s an unforeseen disaster the games will go ahead as planned. The plan is to have a limited amount of spectators, the decision will be made public shortly.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Open up to EVERYONE! Time to get this show going and show the fear mongers that they are wrong!
