Tunisia seemed jinxed!
At one point in the match with 3 chances at a goal the ball refused to go in....uncanny.

Too much scoring by Belgium. FIFA better do something about this. 1-nil insurmountable leads are so much more fun to watch.

If Japan makes the Round of 16, I hope they get the first seed or they may have to play Belgium. If 2nd probably England.
Ganbare Japan!
Japan beat Colombia convincingly. So Japan holds no fear if Belgium and England. Go Samurai Blue!!
Alfie Noakes
No they didn't. Colombia played 85 minutes with 10 men and still nearly snatched a draw at the end. Japan deserved to win but it was hardly convincing.
Belgium seem to be growing into the tournament the way the best teams do and have strong players in every position. Quarter finals at least, depending on the luck of the draw?

Impessive start from Belgium. No surprise to see Lukaku banging in goals against weaker sides.
Hazard looks in a can-be-arsed mood at the moment. This is worrying for anyone playing Belgium.

Belgium has incredible depth for a 'smallish' nation, quality all around (everyone's forgotten about Nainggolan by now). Top gk, world class defenders (meunier was better than dani alves at psg) & arguably one of the best midfield in world football right now which makes things much easier for a bloke like Lukaku who's a quality finisher yet lacks (imo) dribbling/control skills to match the best of the best.
Having said that Panama & Tunisia are 2 of the weakest sides in this wc and, fair play to them, didn't park the bus (unlike other minnows in other groups). Might be different when they face quality sides playing not to lose.

Even though I’d love to see them go far in this tournament, I’m not even remotely convinced they can. Any team coached by Martinez is likely to concede 2 or 3 goals every match. If Tunisia had a striker capable of finding the back of the net regularly we’d have had a 5-5 draw.
Even up 4-1 Martínez was subbing on strikers rather than trying to tie up the win. I suspect we’ll be able to make a better conclusion about Belgium once they play a top side.

Following the sending off and penalty, Japan basically played nearly 90 minutes against 10 men and got a 1-1 draw. Had Colombia still had 11 players the result would have been different.
Japan are not strong enough.

Come on :)

Teams have been winning games with 10 men against equal opponents. When Boating was send off Germany continued withe pressure football against the Swedes.
'What if' would have produced many different champions in the past :)
Their forwards shot would have put Japan ahead but Sánchez instinctively stuck out his right arm which is not that smart and a more then legitimate sending off.
Belgium might be too strong for Japan but one never knows in football.
