"You are a pathological liar. You don't note truth from falsehood."

"I'm sorry," said Cohen. "Are you referring to me or the president?"

Damn, fell off my chair the second time.

You are a pathological liar. You don't note truth from falsehood."

"I'm sorry," said Cohen. "Are you referring to me or the president”

That is a beauty.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

You've claimed that you've lied but you're not a liar," said Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga. "Just to set the record straight, if you lied, you are a liar by definition.

I can not believe he made this statement! Pot-kettle-black!

8 ( +9 / -1 )

I don't think the GOP used their heads here, just made themselves look like a bunch of idiots in front of the world. Its no secret that Cohen has an amazing track record for lying. Too bad Trump takes 1st place for liar of the century. And its also probably why Cummings decided to believe Cohen.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

That Cohen is a liar isn't just a political claim. It's objective fact that has been proven in court.

For example -- and these are not just accusations, but rather things that Mr. Cohen either admitted or was convicted for:

a) False tax statements filed in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016

b) Failed to report $4 million in income

c) Failed to pay $1.4 million in taxes

d) Made false statements to financial institutions in order to obtain credit

So, this writer can say all she wants about how "angry" Republicans sound. But the Republicans, as this non-American sees it, are only highlighting Cohen's undeniable lack of credibility. It's not about "anger" -- it's about trustworthiness, which Cohen doesn't have.

Trump's only mistake was having chosen Cohen for his personal lawyer prior to becoming President. He surely could have chosen someone of much better quality.

It's interesting that the Democratic side are using THIS guy to attack the President.

Hypocrisy is when you dish out BS.

Irony is when you observe the former.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

As a bonus:

Matt Gaetz is now being investigated by the Florida bar for witness tampering. What is it about Trump that makes crooks out of everyone?!

And by the way, none of these things were done by Cohen in order to help Trump. In fact, they had absolutely nothing to do with Trump.

By having this guy speak to Congress so as to attack or destroy Trump, the Democratic side are only showing how desperate they are.

-16 ( +2 / -18 )

jenni

You forgot to mention everything else in today's hearing.

Including and not limited to:

Violation of campaign laws (yes, evidence was exhibited today which directly links Trump to decisions made during his campaign that were illegal), and the possible lead tying Trump to Stone and wikileaks (actually, it almost completely and clearly links Trump Jr. to it and the Trump Tower meeting).

Nobody is saying Cohen is a good guy, or didn't commit crimes of his own. Open your eyes, Jenni. You ain't seeing right.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

So, this writer can say all she wants about how "angry" Republicans sound. But the Republicans, as this non-American sees it, are only highlighting Cohen's undeniable lack of credibility. It's not about "anger" -- it's about trustworthiness, which Cohen doesn't have.

And if that's the case, then the same logic must be applied to Trump, whom has regularly been proven a liar. So the president is someone who must not, nay cannot, be trusted.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

And by the way, none of these things were done by Cohen in order to help Trump. In fact, they had absolutely nothing to do with Trump

You know what does have to do with Trump though, and is oddly missing from your list of Cohen crimes? The setting up of Essential Consulting to pay Stormy Daniels in violation of campaign finance laws. That has everything to do with Individual 1. Hee hee;)

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Trump's only mistake was having chosen Cohen for his personal lawyer prior to becoming President. He surely could have chosen someone of much better quality.

He seems to do that on a regular basis.

By having this guy speak to Congress so as to attack or destroy Trump, the Democratic side are only showing how desperate they are.

Trump will do just fine in destroying himself, ta very much. As long as he doesn't take the US with him, of course.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Now they start to worry about lying? But when a lie a minute Trump does it, it's OK. How do you spell hypocrite?: GOP

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Considering one Republican tried to threaten Cohen, I think what Cohen said is true, and the Republicans know it.

Suddenly caring about lies after defending Trump for 2 years, that's just the same hypocrisy as before.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

In America, "political ethics" has become an oxymoron.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

It is an interesting tightrope the Republicans had to walk; attack Cohen’s credibility as a liar while not coming off as hypocrites for ignoring that Trump is a true pathological liar. They failed miserably.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

d) Made false statements to financial institutions in order to obtain credit

As was mentioned above, none of the anti-Trumpers here think Cohen is some saint - he's a disgusting, putrid sleeze ball - just like the guy that hired him - and almost everyone around Trump. I mean, just look at Manafort and Stone - one wears $5,000 orstrich suits and the other has a tattoo of Nixon on his back. Real creepy...

Trump surrounds himself with digusting cesspool creatures because he is one himself.

Ask yourself, what kind of a man has a fling with a porn star while his wife is at home with their 11 month old son? And that's a minor one considering all the sinister escapades in his life.

Cohen has evidence; files, hard drives, tapes, videos - that's what will crucify Trump, not what Cohen says...

And as for lying, Trump is up over 7000 now. Who's the bigger liar?

The whole Trump enterprise is nothing but the Sopranos; including "rats", "fixers", and even a "Mooch"....

8 ( +9 / -1 )

It is an interesting tightrope the Republicans had to walk; attack Cohen’s credibility as a liar while not coming off as hypocrites for ignoring that Trump is a true pathological liar.

Now they're just trying to claim that this line of thinking isn't logical.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

How much of conservative-ism can we stand up to?

The whole eastern block went moneywise a quarter century ago.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

and these are where exactly? all he had were a bunch of unsupported allegations, more lies and irrelevant complaints about paintings. Even IF there is campaign finance violations, its just a monetary fine. moving on.

Cohen has evidence; files, hard drives, tapes, videos -

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Prague? Was he really there and he is still lying about it?

Your whole Russia collusion story is built around him being there. Was he or was he not?

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Trump's only mistake was having chosen Cohen for his personal lawyer prior to becoming President. He surely could have chosen someone of much better quality.

heh heh. mob bosses should try that as a defense. “I’m really a good guy just not good at choosing my capos. For some reason they just happen turn out to be criminals...”

7 ( +8 / -1 )

all he had were a bunch of unsupported allegations, more lies and irrelevant complaints about paintings. Even IF there is campaign finance violations, its just a monetary fine. moving on.

lol More lies? Like lying individual #1? haha Hey, how about those signatures on the checks? Yeah, that isn't just a fine. Donny is going to jail. Trumpies keep forgetting Cohen is going to jail in part campaign finance violations.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

No, Cohen is not going to jail for campaign finance violations. Same as Obama didnt go to jail when he did it.

How about the checks? Nothing new. Unless they were claimed to be for a 5 week nutrition and workout program. Liberals are fine with that.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

The 'law and order' party. Hahaha

1 ( +2 / -1 )

No, Cohen is not going to jail for campaign finance violations. Same as Obama didnt go to jail when he did it.

lololol They're not the same. At all. Obama didn't set up a fake company to conceal payments to porn stars he slept. Trump did, with the help of Cohen. This is one of the crimes he plead guilty to. Sorry the facts don't agree with your opinion.

Sentencing papers from SDNY:

6 ( +7 / -1 )

It's interesting that the Democratic side are using THIS guy to attack the President.

Its interesting that they continually discredit Cohen because he lied, yet the President proven liar in chief is perfectly believable and credible, not one of them even had the nads to ask a Cohen a question about Trump, LOL

2 ( +3 / -1 )

No, Cohen is not going to jail for campaign finance violations.

uh, yes he is.

Seems a very basic fact to get wrong...

5 ( +6 / -1 )

No, Cohen is not going to jail for campaign finance violations. Same as Obama didnt go to jail when he did it.

Intent.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

not one of them even had the nads to ask a Cohen a question about Trump, LOL

In fact, the moment Trump came up, the GOP members diverted and tried to stop him from talking. They showed how afraid they are today. That guy gaetz too, trying to move up the ranks and impress Trump by threatening Cohen to keep quiet. Now he's facing possible disbarment lol. I wonder if his wife will be faithful to him when he doesn't have a job anymore.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Paul Gosar, R-Ariz.: "You are a pathological liar. You don't note truth from falsehood."

"I'm sorry," said Cohen. "Are you referring to me or the president?"

THAT is a classic!

6 ( +7 / -1 )

No, Cohen is not going to jail for campaign finance violations. Same as Obama didnt go to jail when he did it.

You found yourself to JT using the internet. Now time to discover, google.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Sapporo has a Trump building too.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

To be perfectly fair, I can completely understand why they attacked Cohen. It makes tactical sense. Trump is objectively a liar, and subjectively a sociopath. The facts are not stacked in favor of Trump or the GOP, so attack Cohen is the logical route. Of course, it makes it painfully obvious how awful Trump is.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I don't think the GOP used their heads here, just made themselves look like a bunch of idiots in front of the world.

That doesn't sound too hard

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Fair play and Trump, are you kidding?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Considering one Republican tried to threaten Cohen, I think what Cohen said is true, and the Republicans know it.

Indeed, where is the outrage over Mat Gaetz's disgusting threat? Now he's pretending he didn't.

Gaetz, a close ally of Trump, initially defended his tweet, saying "This isn't witness tampering. This is witness testing."

Yeah, sure. Still, he's being investigated, which is something.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/27/rep-matt-gaetz-faces-bar-inquiry-because-of-michael-cohen-tweet.html

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trumpers aren't concerned about Cohens lies.

They are worried that he has now stopped lying.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Sounds like the GOP doesn't like Trump's personal lawyer very much.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trump pleaded guilty to lying in cooperation with, and at the direction of, his boss, Trump. GOPers don't seem to understand that little technicality.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

No smoking gun

No collusion

Nothing impeachable

Meanwhile, Trump is working on peace and denuclearization.

Trump 2020

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

So let’s ignore all the other crimes of Cohen and pretend he is going to jail for the addom crime of campaign finance violations. No one goes to jail for just that, it’s a fine like Obama paid.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Still not why Cohen went to jail.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

the man Trump has called a "rat."

A sneaky, dirty rat! Have to admit the guy does look like a rat...

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

He didn’t pay his taxes and committed bank fraud. That’s why he is going to jail. He was not convicted and sentenced, he agreed to plead guilty to everything put in front of him in a hope to avoid jail.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

If it’s confirmed to be a campaign finance violation per the law why hasn’t Trump been fined like Obama was? Why is he not in jail like Cohen will be?

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

He didn’t pay his taxes and committed bank fraud. That’s why he is going to jail.

That is one reason he is going to jail. The other is campaign finance crimes. Reading the sentencing memorandum. Its all in there. Again sorry your opinion doesn't match the facts.

If it’s confirmed to be a campaign finance violation per the law why hasn’t Trump been fined like Obama was? Why is he not in jail like Cohen will be?

Because you can't indict a sitting president. Cohen will have to pay like $1.4m in fines etc. Trump will, too, once he has his day in court.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Lawyers in the US aren't generally considered the most honest people. Certainly, some are, so I wouldn't want to group every lawyer into the liar group.

Most of the GOP has shown their priorities are all screwed up. I won't say all, but most, at least in party leadership and in leadership of Congress and the Senate, need to be thrown out. They've lost their way and think that staying with Trump is the only way they can survive. Sad when you are tied to a liar like the world has never seen before. Whatever happened to doing the right thing for the country and your home state?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

oh ok so until Trump has his “day in court” he is innocent.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

oh ok so until Trump has his “day in court” he is innocent.

Legally, yes. In a court of public opinion, absolutely no. Donny is a crook who surrounds himself with other crooks.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

In fact, the Lawyers are liars. Now Cohen was convicted felon and he was desperately trying to get his prison term reduce. I don't know whether he get help from Special Counsel Robert Muller as he was promised when Muller asked him to go testify against his former boss Donal Trump or not but Cohen will be definitely go to prison as well as his career was finished here. No one will give him, job. Cohen has to write book and get good deal with publisher for to pay back his lawyer.

Cohen once said, he will take a bullet for his boss Trump. Now, Cohen was trying to push as hard as he can former boss The President Donal Trump over the cliff off to the Pacific Ocean because there's still no smoking gun against the President Trump. I'll rate 50/50 truth to Cohen's testimony against the President Trump.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"You're either incompetent or you are a liar," said Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio.

I think Trump’s proved they’re not necessarily mutually exclusive.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I don't think these Republicans are interested in the truth. Just in their jobs and the amount of money they receive as long as they have their jobs. They'd stab their own mothers in the back if it meant they could keep their cozy jobs. Nasty, immoral people. But I do believe in karma.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Never compare a Nobel Peace Prize winner with a man found guilty of scamming regular Americans out of tens of millions of dollars.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Republicans are making progress! They won't tolerate liars! That means that IMPEACHMENT and CONVICTION of the biggest liar in homo sapiens history can GO AHEAD!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Congress: What dirt do you have on Trump?

Cohen: Orange man bad.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Gawd... the GOP is just utterly putrid. I am physically ill just hearing anything they say because they're so blatantly corrupt. And the cult of 45 will probably drink the Kool-Aid when their glorious leader gets taken down.

OMG, is Trump the next Nixon???

LOL, Nixon is a freaking SAINT compared to Trump.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Just out of age with Vietnam doing well these days.
