How much of what used to be Ukraine has to declare independence from the Kiev regime before its no longer the practice to call them 'breakaway regions' but rather by their own names?

It didn't take this many for Yugoslavia to become 'former Yugoslavia' and the 'breakaway regions' to be called by their individual names, so why not make the switch now?

The Ukrainians are beginning to realise that the West is exploiting them, not backing them. Like Covid and everything else, the war is being used by governments to further their own aims - a new Cold War, fuel price rises and shortages to reduce emissions, flight routes blocked and the promotion of the fantasy of self-sufficiency.

The West no more want Ukraine to win than they want Russia to win. An Orwellian state of endless war better suits their purposes. They will drip feed aid and weapons to keep the pot boiling.

In the 20th century, African and South American countries were trashed by the superpowers fighting proxy wars. Now Ukraine is suffering this fate.

The Russia army can supply these areas fairly easy and the Ukrainian army can't , too far and almost surrounded, better to move back and regroup then counter attack, I am sure the Ukrainian generals are already planning this.

Not less than 9000 Ukrainian soldiers are trapped and as many as 20000. Next lets take Odessa!

What happened to the 100 billion in game changing weapons that have already been sent?

A couple of months ago the “game” was trying to capture Kyiv. Now the “game” is trying to catch a small city in Donbass that everyone assumed Russia would have captured by now anyway.

Seems the game changing weapons did in fact change the game.

The flat tire army of 17 year-old demoralized conscripts seems unstoppable.

Don’t forget to include their handily de-turreted tanks in that description. And for an unstoppable army they certainly spend a lot of their time stopped or in reverse.

The problem in Ukraine is not a lack of weapons. We've given them more weapons per foot than we had in Normandy. The Ukrainians have done far better than anyone expected, but their only troops that really want to kill Russians are the Azov, and they are rapidly being eliminated. The Ukrainian regular army is a conscript army filled with people who couldn't run away fast enough to avoid being drafted. There are some good people in it, but they are no longer a great army. They have been hurt far more than Ukraine admits, and sending more weapons won't save them. It is time to make a deal.

Russia could’ve been such a force of good in the world. Instead, it’s chosen to be vile, corrupt and evil. What a shame.

Seems Ukraine is starting to get it that the west is using them for their Ken proxy war against Russia.

Yesterday a Russian pilot was killed, he was 63 years old and was sacked from the Air Force 10 years ago at the time a major General? So if things are going so well for Russia why is a disgraced 63yo flying combat missions? And why are T60 (50yo) tanks being transported from storage?

Seems Ukraine is starting to get it that the west is using them for their Ken proxy war against Russia.

Seems that you are using Russia for your proxy war against Biden.

This was actually reported in several leading corporate media outlets. I know the Guardian was one. A 63 year-old Russian air-force general who was sacked a few years ago due to negligence asked a current general who was his friend to be allowed to fly combat missions over Ukraine and was allowed to. And some people are so stupid they take it seriously!!

This has gotten beyond stupid. People are willingly deluding themselves.

How about to say that UA forces are loosing own ground?

Just be plain use simple words and write just truth-its not so difficult task?

Kremlin hopes Russia can win Ukraine war in months.

With west's incessant supply of hi-tech modern extremely lethal weapons to Kiev, chances are the war could end up in stalemate one day.

There will be an East & a West Ukraine then..
