escorted off a flight by a female gate agent who demanded she cover up

It's usually women that get angry by other women revealing too much and stealing the attention of men.

Sound like the taliban are in charge of delta. What a ludicrous thing for the stewardess to do

Men should be forced to wear bras or cover up their protruding nipples.

"Neither her breasts nor any other woman's breasts have ever tried to take over a plane,.....

This has the makings of a comedy routine. When boobs took over an airplane.

"Male passengers are not required to cover up their t-shirts with a shirt or a jacket," she said. "They also do not have to wear a bra to board or remain on a plane and women should not have to wear one either.

Stupid comparison. Men don't have breasts like women and that is only if they have excess fat; thave pectoral muscles there. Women have breasts that hold milk so they can lactate and feed babies. The anatomies are totally different and while I agree with this woman in principle, men are attracted to women's breasts so don't get bent out of shape if your nipples are protruding and men start staring. It's going to happen.

There are local acceptable dress standards that people should know "intuitively". Without a photo of the offensive attire, I don't know if her clothing was locally appropriate or not.

This time of year, Salt Lake City is chilly. Would you like to see men or women traveling in wet t-shirts in front of your children?

Sometimes poor taste is nearly universally agreed.

Airlines aren't public transit. They are corporations that need to look out for ALL their passengers.

This is what she was wearing.

Don't if this lady had done this before and being able to fly, in that case, she might have had an argument, some comment that a visual is needed to know whether her choice was tasteless or not, and surely an image would help. However, if the airline people saw and understood she was wearing no bra, and she confirm it, come on, she should know better. Again, not clear on how often she gets out with it, but I cannot fathom it being OK'd anywhere I've ever traveled. Surely breast are not a weapon, and surely they are lovely, the reasons for keeping female breast from not being to revealed are long known and accepted way back. I find it annoying she plays the victim. It is what it is. The male analogy would be not with male nipples, but with male genitalia perhaps through a very tight spandex shorts or something, would she be ok with a male riding a plane next to her like that? wouldn't she complain to the airline? It is what it is. Think it through, ride with it. Don't make a fuss.

"This time of year, Salt Lake City is chilly. Would you like to see men or women traveling in wet t-shirts in front of your children?" Sure why not, if children are raised correctly they aren't going to be traumatized by human bodies. Of course if they have been brainwashed by their parents and a story book they will end up being traumatized by many things in life. Woman should have equal rights and not be judged by a different standard.

They should institute a rule.

If a woman feels another woman is wearing something that is attracting too much attention, a man should be brought in to adjudicate and decide it the young woman should be allowed to expose herself as she sees fit.

Most men would not have said anything about this girl choosing to dress in an attractive manner.

But, the agent said, if she put a jacket over her t-shirt, she would be allowed to continue her journey.

She was given a choice.

Yesterday's choice is today's oppression. Or something.

Clearly she did it to make a spectacle of herself, otherwise she would have worn something less noticeable without wearing a bra.

I lived with several young ladies while working in a small hostess club, the cutest one wore transparent pajamas that looked very attractive on her, and of course I never complained, but the rest were quite jealous of her :)

Just had a quick look at some other reporting on this. She looks and acts like an exhibitionist.

I would not have complained...

Just saying.

Airlines aren't "public spaces". They are private, so the company gets to set the standards for "proper attire". We are free to choose which airline we fly on - or drive - or take some other form of transportation (bus/train/bicycle).

BTW, the same applies to social networks. They are private. If I could, I'd make it illegal for my local, state, and federal govts to post anything on a private website. Official govt statements need to come from official govt media outlets.
