Once embracing, Turkey turns on migrants

Not sure about Turkey economy, but even the best nations around the world would have a hard time settling 5 milllion of migrant and refugees. That is just a time bomb waiting to go off. Any person with a brain should have predicted that this was 1 giant disaster that would bring a nation down it's knees.

Erdogan used the refugees as a bargaining chip in his negotiations with Europe.

Now that they are of no use to him he wants to get rid of them.

There are Afghans, Uyghurs, Rohingyas people who face real persecution at home, but Erdogan who tries to pretend to an Islamist champion doesn't care.

Shame!

That is the reason for the majority of human movement through history.

well it's ironic considering Turks are basically the Turkmans, Uzbeks, Afghans settled in Anatolya. Would be nice if they were more welcoming of their relatives.

But, the fact that they are illegals in Turkey is also a big factor. Difficult times for Afghan brethren.

Before humans made borders, everyone was free to go wherever they felt most welcome.

Its puzzling, but the likes of Al Qaueda, ISIS, Taliban and Erdogan never have any complaint or concern about Rohingyas or Uyghurs. If anyone could explain this dichotomy I’d appreciate it.

Charity towards fellow members of the umma is part of the Islamic creed. Rounding up fellow Muslims like this is definitely not found in the Koran or the hadiths.

Turkey is full. They have millions of neighboring refugees today. They've done a tremendous job helping their neighbors. So have a few other countries like Lebanon.

Millions of people are fleeing their home countries due to a few hundred leaders. The answer is simple - deal with the leadership and let the people stay in their home countries. Imagine if 1M refugees marched on the leaders of these terrible places and demanded equality, freedom, and democracy? Have 1000+ people taking videos and live streaming the events. perhaps 10,000 will be killed by the people currently in power, but the other 999,000 people will gain control and the problem of the leadership will be solved. They need 1M every day, en masse ... for a few weeks, until the leaders are gone. 20K isn't enough. Too easy to kill them and scare everyone else away. Everyone who can walk in the area needs to be part of the protest - young, old, and everyone in between. Force the current govt to kill tens of thousands of people to remain in power - in front of the entire world.

I wouldn't be convinced to do this. I don't see any other choice that solves millions of people leaving their countries as waves. The people have to decide and remain resolute, together.
