UK decadence is unstoppable, LOL..

“The right to a peaceful protest is a fundamental aspect of free speech in any country worth living in.”
”Yea, but this was, like, we think, a very important occasion”
”Oh. That’s okay then”.

For Sunday lunch made a very typical grass feed roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.

Princess Diana would have loved having lunch at this affair.
Would have...

Humbly I thought Katy Perry performance was a show stopper, total professional, real class, the wow factor.
Sorry, Take That, I muted the sound.
The Metropolitan Police were ordered to be tough on the protesters.
Peaceful protest is not something to be afraid of in a modern democratic society.
“The coronation is a once-in-a-generation event and that is a key consideration in our assessment,” Commander Karen Findlay said.
Please that is gibberish, disingenuous, you had your orders.
Look people clearly enjoyed the occasion, regardless of a number of peaceful miscreants

I'm glad it stopped raining.
Brexit was an own-goal, and the arrest of potential protestors reprehensible, but give the people their day.

That is nice of her. I am sure Prince Andrew would have been happy to do this "Royal" function. Where was the Queens favorite son?

Anything to make people happy and have an excuse to party is fine.
Knock down a Guinness for the newborn king.

No mention in the article of the estimated 20k who turned out for a pro-Independence march in Glasgow on Saturday?

The right to peaceful protest in the UK is now dead.

The tea set and plates used for the Downing St street party were donated by the maker. Did people get to take it away?

And the tune they were dancing to was 100 million pounds cost to the Taxpayers for a party for one the richest families that have ever lived ! They should be ashamed of taking so much money out of taxpayers pocket when the country is in a 'Cost of living crisis'. Long live the king and his dependants....hip ! hip ! hooray !!!

What a medieval event!!!

I watched it for 45mins on YT and got very bored, especially with all that church music. Then I read about a few protesters who were arrested for having......wait for it, Different views from many others, my dog I thought, what sacrilege, expressing YOUR views in a democratic country. All those authorities should be ashamed of themselves, but we know they will not be. So much for democracy, more like Shamocracy.

Looks like fun. A perfect spring event.

“The coronation is a once-in-a-generation event and that is a key consideration in our assessment,”
Maybe, but realistically, with a newly-crowned monarch at 75 showing his age, twice-in-a-generation is a possibility on the actuarial table, innit?

And maybe a slice of yicky shephard's pie. All for 500000 pounds sterling, per person.
Think of all the homes that could've been built, the extra vaccines to fight and beat the coronavirus, all the good works that could've been done with all the UK ;pounds pissed away for this shindig for a couple of do-nothings. And it's 2023, for crying out loud. A pity.

I don't understand your comment this time. I don't favor the monarch, as you know, but my Japanese spouse who lived for some time in the UK enjoys it very much. I made her the requested Quiche earlier in the week and yesterday made her a typical British Sunday lunch.
I don't understand any of that.
Estimated cost, £100 million probably not including the police and troops. But let's say £500 million. Divided by 65 million would be £7.69 each. You can no longer buy Sunday lunch for that price.
BTW good Shepherd's Pie made with lamb is very tasty.
The Coronavirus is done.
The average cost of a British home is £300,000. 1,666 new homes.
Like I said numerous times, I don't support the monarch.

I feel pitiful for those poor living in U.K., it was not their party !
