Tax returns and emoluments. The walls are closing in on Trump.

Of course, the Repubs, if they retain control of the Senate, will try to stuff the courts as much as possible. This is likely their last grasp of power for a generation, and they know it.

5 ( +19 / -14 )

“ they would also win subpoena power to investigate the president's many personal and professional missteps.”

Just more obstructing and delaying. How about getting important things done for the people. Isn’t Mueller already investigating? & where’s all that “Russia-Russia-Russia “ media hype?

The democrats only seek revenge on Trump, along with the biased mainstream media, for their truly embarrassing loss back in ‘16.

-6 ( +17 / -23 )

Pretty funny headline, Trump wins either way. The Senate will still belong to the Republicans,Trump is still in office for 2 more years and he will easily win a second term. Maybe Barbara Streisand will finally move to Canada.

-5 ( +18 / -23 )

Wc, Mueller's purview is limited. Many fear there are far more areas of corruption, not just with Trump himself, but with the way in which the GOP operates.

It's not revenge. It's justice. Get used to it.

-1 ( +14 / -15 )

America is 75% white so if you wanna appeal to the highest amount of taxpayers... who should you appeal to to win? Oh wait I forgot -- math is racist too! OOhhh.... WHITE PEOPLE! Gimme a break.

Anyways, it will be interesting to see what happens. I hope that the blue wave turns into a blue abyss and the Democratic party goes away forever and a new party will replace it.

And then the 99 percent of the media will also find a way to exist without being an arm of the democratic party pushing nothing but LGBTQP and minority issues all day every day.

And then the universities will close all of their studies departments and students will learn how to exist with the upcoming AI revolution.

And then social media (especially Facebook) will collapse and people walking around in selfieland will snap out of it and return to reality.

For this to happen -- Trump needs another 6-year-supermajority.

Go Trump!

-17 ( +10 / -27 )

America is 75% white

Can you provide a source for that? LOL

17 ( +18 / -1 )

And then the universities will close all of their studies departments

Trump loves the poorly educated. He said so. He gets lots of votes from the poorly educated.

No universities would be a good thing for Trump, although he did once run a scam university.

8 ( +20 / -12 )

Interesting how campaign finance has gone by the wayside as a Democratic Party position. Just a coincidence that most of the money in politics is flooding in from rich Democrats, I guess.

Same thing happened in 2016. Hillary Clinton outspent Trump by 2 to 1, yet lost.

It's going to be interesting for sure. The number of early votes already cast is stunning- more than 30 million already. We'll know anyway in 48 hours.

9 ( +15 / -6 )

Still, his xenophobic rhetoric has been unprecedented for an American president in the modern era: "Barbed wire used properly can be a beautiful sight," Trump told voters in Montana.

Nothing "xenophobic" about protecting your borders from illegal immigrants!

-1 ( +16 / -17 )

"I don't think there's a Democrat in this country that doesn't have a little angst left over from 2016 deep down"

This much is true.

"The walls are closing in on Trump."

Yep, he's done, might as well stick a fork in him.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Boo-hoo-hoo...Trump is a monster. Boo-hoo-hoo.. he hasn’t gotten America involved in a foreign war in 2 years. Boo-hoo-hoo..he helped lower some taxes and made the economy better. Boo-hoo-hoo...he charges the same tariffs as other countries do. Boo-hoo-hoo...he is using the American military to protect America. Boo-hoo-hoo..millions of millennials have the chance to leave their jobs a baristas and food services and get better jobs that pay much better.

The only thing that is at stake is whether or not America will become like Japan and only elect those who come from political dynasties. Only politicians who are born to children of political leaders can be elected. Trump was elected by people who want hope and change. He was elected by people who want a different future than what Japan and Europe offer.

He was elected by fools who don’t want to be ruled by corporations and robots.

-4 ( +13 / -17 )

Only politicians who are born to children of political leaders can be elected.

Right. Like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama. Ever read their biographies? They were not the type to receive hundreds of millions of dollars from their father.

Regarding taxes, you're likely aware that the deficit will in 2018 exceed its non-war high-tidemark made in 2010. You're aware that the economy was cratering then but is now humming along, yet Trump is set to become the first $1 trillion-deficit president. But existing cuts go to the rich, so he's promised "vapor legislation" for the middle class, which the neither house of congress will ever accept, each for their own reasons. And you take this guy seriously?!

2 ( +10 / -8 )

the democratic party pushing nothing but LGBTQP and minority issues all day every day.

Hello, again.

Could you give some examples? Besides those reacting to Trump's military ban and attempts to define gender as biological?

The latter of which was denounced by scientists worldwide

2 ( +10 / -8 )

Tax returns and emoluments. The walls are closing in on Trump.

Hmmmm....I doubt that very much.

Of course, the Repubs, if they retain control of the Senate, will try to stuff the courts as much as possible.

Worked for the Democrats for a very long time, so why not?

This is likely their last grasp of power for a generation, and they know it.

No,, that’s why the Progressive wing of the Dems think, but as radical as their policies are, at best they could get 2 years, the majority of the country doesn’t want to be like California or New York. At least we have the courts.

-6 ( +10 / -16 )

An veritable blizzard of dodgy numbers, half-truths and outright fake news sweeping in from the right this afternoon.

5 ( +13 / -8 )

“There sure are a lot of new names popping up spewing right-wing talking points.”

Chip Star. I was here in these threads long ago 20015- ‘16. When I was in country. Where were you?

After Trump won the election, I didn’t have anything to prove anymore to these JT posters who are still hootin’, hollering & constantly whining about Trump -even to this day.

Whatever happens after midterm election Americans must accept it. If democrats take back both houses, so be it. It’s what the people voted. You won’t see me crying & throwing tantrums like the liberal meltdown we all saw after Trump was elected in 2016.

-2 ( +13 / -15 )

It's going to be fun listening to cons try to make Trunl's incompetence the fault of the Dems after the Dems gain control of the House. I've already bought stock in Kleenex.

1 ( +12 / -11 )

As usual, we see the same posters deriding Trump, despite all the facts that fly in the face of their ridiculous opinions!

It's laughable!

-7 ( +10 / -17 )

I'll just copy and paste exactly what I posted on the JT election night thread in 2016. Literally nothing has changed.

It will be very interesting to see how accurate the polls have been. One unprecedented feature of this election cycle has been that support for Trump has been seen not only as a bad choice, but also as being socially repugnant. I wonder if there may actually be quite a few closet Trump supporters who haven't dared to admit this in polite company or to a pollster but will end up voting for him.

Chippy; If the Democrats win the House, then that's fine. The American people will have spoken, and will have to live with the results. I don't think you will find a lot of us right wing types whining or crying over it. More like get back to work and prepare for 2020.

That's not what you guys did for the 8 years we had an articulate, mature, and intelligent president named Obama.

2 ( +12 / -10 )

What the democrats don't -- or can't -- comprehend is that their party has been in the minority since the 2010 midterms. They have lost more than 1,200 seats at the national, state and local government levels.

Instead of making adjustments to make themselves more palatable to voters, its leadership has given control over to the social democrats whose only philosophy is hate and violence; telling themselves inside their political bubble that that recipe is one that the majority of American voters desire.

Tuesday will be a day of reckoning of us; this upcoming vote is one of Americanism vs. socialism.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Be interesting to see what Dems do on foreign policy. Thats my interest.

Be nice to see cooperation in the months and years ahead, but i feel like the process of heated divorce will continue.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

You clearly aren't familiar with how genetics work or know that Warren did not "masquerade."

Poppycock!

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

an articulate, mature, and intelligent president named Obama.

Buwahaha! Ohhhh purleeezeee!

-9 ( +8 / -17 )

Vote Tuesday and be sure to take the time to encourage and help as many people as you can to vote on Tuesday as well.

This is not about the Democrats v. Republicans, it is about democracy v. totalitarianism, about being governed v. being ruled.

I am hoping America will rise above Trump's racial (and other) divisiveness. True patriots -- vote against hate on Nov. 6. We can figure out all the other stuff we disagree about.

8 ( +14 / -6 )

As usual, we see the same posters defending Trump, despite all the facts that fly in the face of their ridiculous opinions!

It's laughable!

5 ( +13 / -8 )

Tuesday will be a day of reckoning of us; this upcoming vote is one of Americanism vs. socialism.

In which alternate reality, though?

The US doesn't have proper socialism. It has far right-Trumpism and center-right liberalism.

The nearest thing to socialism it has, are my friends the Democratic Socialists of America and Redneck Revolt. Both admirable movements but a generation or two away from actually making American people's lives better.

In the meantime, it's same old same old. Far right versus center right.

Please read up on socialism in the meantime. Actual books and academia - not trashy far right echo chambers and uneducated bile from conspiracy theorists and anti-Semites.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Toasted Heretic... Almost funny.

-6 ( +7 / -13 )

Belrick... almost articulate.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

When the Dems take the House, they should put the GOP hierarchy on notice that unless they have taken action by 12.31 to remove Trump under the 25th Amendment, they will act to indict members of his cabinet, the House, members and the Senate they suspect of crimes, and begin impeachment proceedings against Trump on Jan 21.

Impeachment and threats -- how liberal. how... democratic. great policy that resounds in the mind of the average taxpayer who has to foot the bill for such viciousness.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

an articulate, mature, and intelligent president named Obama.

Buwahaha! Ohhhh purleeezeee!

Obama is articulate, mature and intelligent. Whether you agree or disagree with his politics is another matter and has no bearing on this.

You may like Trump’s policies but he is an inarticulate, potty-throwing ignoramus. You may even like childish, potty-throwing ignoramuses but to attempt to shoot down a very accurate observation is just silly.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

The US doesn't have proper socialism. It has far right-Trumpism and center-right liberalism.

Toasted, so how do you classify Bernie Sanders? Sanders doesn't deny he's a "socialist". Even your friend, Joseph Schwartz, accepts Sanders as a "socialist."

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Toasted, so how do you classify Bernie Sanders?

As an also-ran, thanks to the conservative elements of the Democrat campaign.

Currently, socialism isn't allowed to take hold. It's demonised, twisted and maligned.

One thinks of Jewish socialists and communists in 1930s Germany. The mood is similar, and the fallout is becoming deadly. I sincerely hope that the US does not go down that horrific path but the language regarding perceived enemies is astoundingly similar.

This is a watershed in American history. Where you folks go from here will determine the safety of not just millions of American citizens but millions the world over.

Lots to think about and digest.

Good night & good luck tomorrow.

polls show dozens of U.S. congressional and gubernatorial races as too close to call. -- article

Lots of opinion slinging being tossed around concerning Tuesday's voter turnout, but there is a curious absence by the pollster clowns on TV (example: Liberals are once again hanging on to the prognostication of polling guru Nate Silver -- he of the 95-percent chance that "Madam President" would win at 5:30 p.m. On election night 2016 fame -- that the democrats have an "85 percent chance" of reclaiming the House) of any mention of the now-proven Trump-era phenomenon of Republican and independent voters consciously rebel against all forms of both polling and pollsters.

The polls say THIS and the polls say THAT don't mean a thing when the election day results come in and "suddenly" all the polls are off by five or six percentage points. "Suddenly" dozens of republican house, senate and governor candidates received a far higher percentage of votes than any of the earlier polls (or even exit polls) showed.

That is, in all likelihood, what we will see being discussed everywhere In th MSM come Wednesday morning (even cut-and-paste operations like this): The "sudden" manner in which republican candidates received much higher voting percentages than any of the polls indicated.

Cue the repeat of liberals screaming helplessly at the sky.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Vote Tuesday and be sure to take the time to encourage and help as many people as you can to vote on Tuesday as well.

Will do, thanks for the heads up!

This is not about the Democrats v. Republicans, it is about democracy v. totalitarianism, about being governed v. being ruled.

Great, so then it’s vote Red for sure.

I am hoping America will rise above Trump's racial (and other) divisiveness. True patriots -- vote against hate on Nov. 6. We can figure out all the other stuff we disagree about.

How? if the Democrats there will be more racial division and everything will be reved up to a more sinister and diabolical downslide.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

The US doesn't have proper socialism.

And rejects it now and forever.

It has far right-Trumpism and center-right liberalism.

No, capitalism, with progressive liberalism trying to change it to socialism.

The nearest thing to socialism it has, are my friends the Democratic Socialists of America and Redneck Revolt. Both admirable movements but a generation or two away from actually making American people's lives better.

Again, it will never take off, that wasted idea has been applied so many times and every single time got rejected and when people see and can compare LA County and Orange County and see the two drastic contrasts of what socialism is and what capitalism is, there is no way the majority of America, at least middle America wants to look like LA or SF, not going to happen.

In the meantime, it's same old same old. Far right versus center right.

Far left vs the Progressive far, far left Marxist ideology.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

And among white men without college degrees, Republicans led 65 percent to 30 percent.

How do you get tax cuts for the rich? Build a base of uneducated people to vote for it.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Some things to ponder:

If the democrats were indeed going to savor a much-promised "Blue Wave": CNN's viewership would be through the roof instead of lagging behind the Cartoon Network; Obama would have had crowds that dwarfed all of President Trump's rallies combined instead of speaking at partitioned off high school gymnasiums at his speeches. Etc., etc., etc.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Far left vs the Progressive far, far left Marxist ideology.

An absolute car crash of a sentence. Total gibberish. Utterly incoherent. It has no redeeming qualities.

Trump rally level.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Nice to see you still here, Texas. You left the boards a few days before the last election and went to your safe space, only to return when Trump had won.

Now you're giving predictions on this election?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Nate silver is totally walking back his Dems gonna win prediction and suddenly the +12 and +7 dem lead on the generic ballot being reported as +3. Probably with a +4 margin of error.

but both Rihanna and Diddy are campaigning for the Dem in Florida sobtgat guarantees his win? Haha

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Can’t wait to hear the Dem excuses when they lose 5-6 senate seats. But we almost won the house back! Beto only lost by 9 points, less than expected! We won the governor of (insert irrelevant state)!

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

And among white men without college degrees, Republicans led 65 percent to 30 percent.

Donald Trump:

"I love the poorly educated!"

Yep - it all makes sense. Find the least intelligent group and sell superficial slogans to them. Clearly an effective methodology for getting elected.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Can’t wait to hear the Dem excuses when they lose 5-6 senate seats. But we almost won the house back! Beto only lost by 9 points, less than expected! We won the governor of (insert irrelevant state)!

Well as they are in the minority at the moment, and look unlikely to gain the majority, it does not matter too much. Better to gain the Congress by one seat than stay in the minority in both Houses.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I wasn’t aware you had to have a college degree to vote. Maybe we should try that.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

We won the governor of (insert irrelevant state)!

Huh, and here I was thinking that there are no 'irrelevant' states. That of the 50 states, all of them have some level of 'importance.'

About the only state that Cadet Bonespurs and his Trumpeteers seem to be living in, however, is a state of denial.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

but both Rihanna and Diddy are campaigning for the Dem in Florida sobtgat guarantees his win? Haha

@blacklabel,

Read that both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are going to be guest speakers at President Trump's final campaign stop tonight. Liberal heads will be exploding during that rally, Bank on that.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

My my, all the tolerance and rational discussion of the issues we have come to expect from US politics of recent times is on display here.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Trump has done nothing in almost two years with a majority, he'll do even less in the next two whatever happens on Tuesday, apart from blowing another trillion or so in a peace time booming economy. Even my sister couldn't be so fiscally inept.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Done nothing? Then why are liberals so mad about.....what he has done?

“Nate Silver says Dems could retake House, or not: 'Both extremely possible'”

Polls say +7 to Dems in Florida for both senate and governor? That’s not happening.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Just watched a fun episode last night.

"How could blind 'patriotic nationalism' turn into blatant fascism?"

Trump is not loyal to the constitution, he's loyal to himself. Trump does not want to serve the average American's best interests, he wants to serve his own self interests. Trump does not care about the middle class, the poor in this country. He only sees what will enrich himself and others.

The people here that cheer for Trump (if they're not foreign instigators), are cultists. Plain and simple. Remember Helsinki.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Done nothing? Then why are liberals so mad about.....what he has done?

Yes, done nothing. The least productive president ever, that's official. And you seem to be the mad one here.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

What would I be mad about? You are going to lose Missouri, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Montana and North Dakota.

Not winning Florida or Georgia governor and a small chance that you lose New Jersey and/or Michigan and Indiana too.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

What would I be mad about? You are going to lose Missouri, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Montana and North Dakota.

It doesn't matter. Trump has achieved nothing in two years with a majority, what's he gonna achieve in the next two in an even worse position? Even his ow party hate him.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I've yet to see any pollster reference the impact of the (pound sign)walkaway movement. Oh right, I forgot, liberals claim it's Russian bots.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

The ouster of Trump and his cabinet is vitally important. America is in decline.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

It's funny though, that a lot of the left leaning folks here are mocking that Trump bragged about his votes from uneducated people, and the left is openly going after the more educated voters, yet Trump is the one who got elected.

Maybe the left needs to open its eyes and start looking at the folks they are walking all over and ignoring while they try to get elected. There's a whole lot of those 'uneducated voters' and they are the ones who decide the winners.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

“Tuesday will be a day of reckoning of us; this upcoming vote is one of Americanism vs. socialism.”

Darn right!!

Even my mom, dad & grandmother (who are democrat voters) say, “Damm. What the hell happened to the party?

Socialism....... it’s for the birds. No wonder the DNC stabbed Sanders in tha’ back during 2016 (D) primaries. Ohh wait!! Suddenly it’s their new strategy / perspective. Pathetic!!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

nothing anyone writes here will change anyone's opinion, but I really am curious how anyone could vote Democrat being that they have no platform besides raising taxes and sheltering illegal aliens..

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I really am curious how anyone could vote Democrat being that they have no platform besides raising taxes and sheltering illegal aliens..

If 'sheltering illegal aliens' were a real thing, it would give the people one more reason to vote Democrat than they had to vote Republican two years ago. The pubs literally had no platform other than 'repeal everything Obama'. And it was a winning strategy. So 'fix everything Trump broke' is a winning campaign.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

It's amazing how Pubs are ok with their people trying to murder the other party, and let it go. It's amazing how the Pubs are ok with their people trying to frame Mueller by paying off women to say he sexually assaulted them - all lies.

Why do the Republicans hate America? Why are the Americans misanthropists? Why do they want to put their country in the toilet?

A vote Republican is a vote to accelerate the end of the US empire and it's power and influence. It's literally a vote to put themselves and their people in poverty. Can you think of anything more pathetic than voting for the Republicans? Can you think of anything that would label someone as being extremely low intelligence than a vote for the Republicans? Nope. A vote for the republicans is a vote for hatred of America.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

nothing anyone writes here will change anyone's opinion,

Agreed.

but I really am curious how anyone could vote Democrat being that they have no platform besides raising taxes and sheltering illegal aliens..

This is an easy question to answer. The Dem platform is not raising taxes or sheltering undocumented immigrants, its equality of opportunity, protecting the environment for future generations, treating other humans as humans instead of dehumanizing them by inaccurately labeling them as "illegal," repairing the damage Trump and his enablers have done to the reputation and standing of the US, supporting renewable energy because oil will run out, not kissing the arses of dictators like Kim and Purim, etc.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Here comes the “it’s going to rain on Election Day” excuse from the Dems.

It’s all part of Trumps dastardly plan for muh voter suppression, he can make it rain too. We all know that Dems don’t care enough to vote once they might have to use an umbrella or drive thier car in the rain.

The only way you can be of this opinion is if you adhere to polls, which we all know are extremely inaccurate. Oh, you're one of those "it's inaccurate if it goes against me, but accurate when it's for me" conservatives. Very sophisticated.

Nope. This is the kind of thing racists say when they are vehemently denying their racism.

Maybe the Democrats should start targeting them too. It seemed to have worked for Trump, didn't it.

No, I don’t buy the racist media narrative that minorities can’t vote if it rains and don’t have the ability to get an ID so that they can vote.

Right in the article:

“The weather is unwelcome news to Democrats in a number of closely watched races who are hoping that high turnout will help them secure victories.

Higher turnout in midterm elections is generally seen as favorable to Democrats.”

so the weather doesn’t affect Republicans?

The Dems remain enraged that Hillary lost so you can count on a blue wave tomorrow. Dem billionaires have put in record breaking amounts of cash on the side of the Democrats this midterm. The money imbalance between the parties is stark to say the least.

Democrats will have a 40~50 seat margin in the House and 2~3 in Senate on Wednesday. Governorships and state legislators will be in near parity.

Rep. Maxine Waters will commence the “impeachment impeachment impeachment....” immediately. But alas it will fail in the Senate for lack of votes. Trump will not pass any significant new legislation but retains his phone and pen to shape governance to his liking for another two years. Trump always gets a foil in the Congress to run against in 2020 increasing his chances for re-election. I anticipate the Dems will launch a full on race gender, etc. war leading up to the next presidential election.

Should be a lot of paralysis and emnity from both sides - overall chaos and anarchy on the part of Dems because as Hillary said, Democrats cannot be civil with Republicans who want “to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.”

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Should be a lot of paralysis and emnity from both sides -

Throw in Trump's incompetence and we have a recipe for disaster.

> overall chaos and anarchy on the part of Dems because as Hillary said, Democrats cannot be civil with Republicans who want “to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.”

Uhhh . . . Okay.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Maybe the Democrats should start targeting them too. It seemed to have worked for Trump, didn't it.

If they were morally bankrupt maybe they should, but I am guessing they aren’t.

So the poor and uneducated are beneath the Democrats? If they supported Trump, you want nothing to do with them? It's not worth it to try to change their outlook to gain their support?

It amazes me that people still refuse to realize that opinions like this are the reason Trump is the President.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

No mention of minorities, which means you're projecting your racism into the media.

No mention of majority people. So you are projecting your hatred towards whites? Is that how the gotcha game is played?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Maybe the Democrats should start targeting them too. It seemed to have worked for Trump, didn't it.

The poor and the downtrodden are no longer the Democrats primary concern.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Yeah, so which political race was mentioned not once but twice as specifically affected by the racist weather which will cause Dems to lose? Both Abrams and Gilliam will lose but only cause of the weather!

No mention of minorities, which means you're projecting your racism into the media.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

So the poor and uneducated are beneath the Democrats?

Exploiting the poorly educated, encouraging a sense of paranoia, feeding them divisive falsehoods , that is beneath the democrats.

It should be beneath anyone with an ounce of character in them, but then the right wing haters defy all reason!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The poor and the downtrodden are no longer the Democrats primary concern.

I am sure they are of concern to the right wing haters, the amount of time they spend trying to disenfranchise them is proof!

“For example, in 2012, there was hardly any difference between the two groups: College graduates backed Obama over Romney by 50%-48%, and those without a college degree also supported Obama 51%-47%.”

Obama got elected by the poorly educated whom you now want to disparage.

suburban, white women lie to pollsters. never forget that 50% of the KKKlan is white women. if you're counting on white women for your "blue wave" you're S.O.L. don't believe? just ask Hillary Clinton about the reliability of white women.

No mention of majority people. So you are projecting your hatred towards whites? Is that how the gotcha game is played?

Logical inferences are not "gotcha games."

I'm not the one who brought up racism.

Exploiting the poorly educated, encouraging a sense of paranoia, feeding them divisive falsehoods , that is beneath the democrats.

"Target" does not equal "Exploit". Did I ever say the word 'exploit'? The article above states that the Democrats are going after the more educated voters, multiple comments mock Trump because his supporters are poor and uneducated, yet everyone is still ignoring that those same people they are making fun of are the ones who put the current president in the White House.

You just don't get it.

Yeah, so which political race was mentioned not once but twice as specifically affected by the racist weather which will cause Dems to lose? Both Abrams and Gilliam will lose but only cause of the weather!

When all else fails, make up a race and run to conspiracy theories.

Obama got elected by the poorly educated whom you now want to disparage.

That's not what those numbers represent. Keep flailing around, grasping at straws.

The electoral college put Trump in the White House.

Nothing is at stake. Either way, America is going down the tubes toward fascism and bankruptcy. The election is just a way to choose which route to take

It's amazing how much the 'pubs freak out about fake news, while totally ignoring that their overlord was the one who started fake news with his birthirsm, and that the right keeps pushing fake news every day. Is it because they are too stupid to recognize that the news is fake? Or is it because they are too racist to care? Or is it that they are both too stupid to know and too racist to care?

Do you disagree that Trump is doing exactly that, exploit!

Ill informed doesn't mean poor. I am sure many of the posters here are reasonably well off, doesn't mean they aren't ill-informed.

Uneducated , yes.

You just don't get it.

Lol.

So, the leftists on this board hope to sway Trump supporters by this:

"Blah, blah, blah, stupid racist, stupid racist, blah, blah, overlord, blah, blah, uneducated, blah, blah, repugs, blah, blah, poorly educated, paranoia, divisive, beneath the democrats, right wing haters defy all reason, ill informed and poorly educated, potty-throwing ignoramus, ridiculous, hate America, fear-based, Hitler worshipping, Nazi, racist. And did I forget to say poor and uneducated? Because poor and uneducated people don't deserve rights or respect."

I mean, this is great dialogue for a circle jerk. But the problem with circle jerks is that they reinforce in-group opinions regardless of validity, and they alienate anyone who disagrees, which means they gain no new members. Meanwhile the repetition, rhyming, intolerance of dissent and ultimate lack of logical or ethical coherence cause people to quietly leave the circle. Do the math.

Nope. We aren't trying to sway anyone; we are trying to let facts shine through the constant falsehoods pushed by Trump supporters.

And then there is

"Blah, blah, blah, stupid racist, stupid racist, blah, blah, overlord, blah, blah, uneducated, blah, blah, repugs, blah, blah, poorly educated,

Isn't this just reinforcing what you are ranting against ?

We aren't trying to sway anyone; we are trying to let facts shine through the constant falsehoods pushed by Trump supporters.

Where exactly are your "facts" going to shine, on who, and to what effect? Why bother unless you are trying to sway someone's opinion? Isn't "letting the facts shine through" just a flowery way of saying persuasion?

And so far as facts, I see falsehoods everywhere. And most of the "facts" in these threads are simply opinions, not facts. When once assumes their opinions are facts, that precludes reasonable discussion. That's what religions often do to people.

The facts will shine through to people that are undecided, which excludes Trump supporters. Ergo, we are not trying to sway Trump supporters.

Letting the facts shine through means not allowing the constant falsehoods pushed by Trump supporters stand as facts. Letting those falsehoods stand does a disservice to anyone with a little intellectual capacity. Trump supporters do not accept facts because they are constantly deceiving themselves.

How so? It's hard to paraphrase a repetitious rant without being repetitious.

On the other hand, I do understand. It's frustrating talking to people with closed minds and entrenched biases. And that describes a lot of people, especially when it comes to politics. Political beliefs aren't all that far from religious beliefs in that sense. Everybody gets sucked into it, some more than others. That's why it's always worth considering that we might be wrong and that guy we hate might be right. It's not comfortable, for sure.

It's worse when we slip into dehumanizing those we disagree with. You pretty much end hope fo dialogue when you call people names, such as racist or stupid. Especially when the accusations are completely unfounded, as they usually are.

So, the leftists on this board hope to sway Trump supporters by this:

Anyone still supporting trump has shown that they lack the intellectual capacity to fact check themselves and not be sheep conned by the snake oil salesmen. They have proven that they are intellectually incapable of forming free though, and just follow the words of whichever preacher they are currently following. It would be pretty silly to think that there is something we could say that would cause them to suddenly grow intellectually enough to shake the propaganda cobwebs from their head.

So, no, I don’t think any of us believe that trump supporters are going to be swayed by hearing the truth.

But that doesn’t mean that the truth shouldn’t be spoken. It needs to be there for those with the intelligence and wisdom to understand it.

It is amazing how conservatives get off and find such glee about putting up walls and bombing others, and loving the “us vs. them” meme, which is very basis of fascism and Nazism. And then the endless dehumanizing and mocking of women, disabled people, (Trump), and minorities (Desantis-which is why I voted for Gillum),and the cheering on yet another war, this time on Iran. I am not religious at all, not in the least, but Trump does fit, to the T, the image of the AntiChrist, who calls for all of those who love the above vices. He does seem to excel in cheating, lying (83 lies in one day), paying off porn actresses, installing friends and family in positions of power or as ambassadors—if this had been a black man or Obama, they would have had him impeached in 30 minutes and tried for treason for his connections to Russia. For conservatives, well.....yawn.

It's worse when we slip into dehumanizing those we disagree with. You pretty much end hope fo dialogue when you call people names, such as racist or stupid.

The time for coddling stupid people by pretending their stupidity has validity is over. It's the exact same complaint you guys have against things becoming overly-PC. When you start coddling the stupid, they start to think their stupid ideas aren't in fact stupid. As we've seen in the US, once these people get rolling, they begin to think not only is their stupidity acceptible, but they delude themselves into thinking that just because they can't conceptualize the stupidity of their idea, it means that the idea is right.

The problem is that because they are so voraciously convinced that their stupidity has validity, and because they can't convince us to accept their stupidity at stupidity's value, they get violent and do things like mail bombs to people who say things they don't like, or murder people praying because of some global conspiracy.

No, the time for coddling morons is done. They still have the right to be stupid, they just don't have the respect for us to not tell them how stupid they are. That ended when their stupidity became violent, and they were too stupid to condemn that violence.
