This is not Humanitarian, this is a commercial sale, that the US taxpayers are paying for the insurance on this shipment,5 month from now after Ukrainain have to take any deal, all this money will be another lost cause

Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said the vessel would anchor off Istanbul on Tuesday afternoon and be inspected by Russian, Ukrainian, United Nations and Turkish representatives.

Assuming Russia doesn't try and interfere with the passage of the ship from Odessa to Istanbul, this is a positive development.

I'll be looking for an update on this later this week.

Avenger, how can this be positive development, when the poor is not gonna get this contaminated food,

The required shipping insurance by underwriters and Lloyds of London will be paid by the shipping companies which will be passed on to the owner of the cargo which will eventually mean higher prices for people buying the grain.

If nothing happens, the underwriters will return a percentage of the insurance.

There are problems ahead. Grain ships can explode from the grain and if that happens it could change the story if it is not known why a ship exploded.

Exploding Ukraine grain will provide about $1 billion per month.

Hopefully, it’ll last, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

If Russia will bomb schools and hospitals, then Russia will bomb anything.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Good news. Let’s get the grain where it needs to go.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine Russian grain ships in the Black Sea has had problems buying shipping insurance. If the export of the Ukraine grain works Russia will also ship their own grain.

Interesting to read these 2 sentences (and more) "side by side:

"Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24 has disrupted global food and energy supplies ...." and

"Moscow has denied responsibility for the food crisis......" and of course another deranged comment:

*"Moscow says Western arms supplies to Ukraine only drag out the conflict and the supply of longer-range weapons justifies Russia's attempts to expand control over more Ukrainian territory for its own protection."*

For its own protection? Nobody at all was, is or will try to attack Russia. Never ever was intended or planned. Besides, arms supply to Ukraine may drag on the conflict, but will definitely help Ukraine regain what belongs to Ukraine. If you want to shorten this insane war, Russia should get out of Ukraine, the pre-February 2022 conditions have to be reinstalled and everything will look much better than it does now.

Russia should get out of Ukraine,

Oh yes, the sooner Russia gets out of Ukraine, the sooner Zelenskyy and his NAZIS can resume their 8 year attack on their Russian speaking citizens. And now with better US weapons to boot.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

Wallace, the US taxpayers are probably paying for the insurance, lots of these crews, probably have not been paid Google Black Sea Ship Crew Desperation

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Oh yes, the sooner Russia gets out of Ukraine, the sooner Zelenskyy and his NAZIS

lol Ahh yes, Zelensky, a Jewish man, and his Nazis. Who do you think is actually buying your Kremlin talking points?

can resume their 8 year attack on their Russian speaking citizens.

You mean the Russian backed separatists, in regions Russia is trying to annex?

And now with better US weapons to boot.

Then maybe Russia shouldn't have invaded Ukraine. Maybe Russia should have respected Ukrainian sovereignty.

research before posting is good. Better than guessing. The shipping lines pay everything to do with their business including underwriter insurance and have nothing to do with Americans. The war premiums are high but rebates will be paid if nothing happens.

One grain carrier exploding because of its cargo will change everything.

A glimmer?

No, more like a mirage.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

All profits from Ukrainian grain should be confiscated and paid in subsidies to offset the crazy energy prices ordinary European families have to pay. Winter is coming. Ukraine has to start paying back the world for the harm it has done. Ukraine farmers get their share, but profits shouldn’t go to the Ukrainian regime elite, but Europeans.

Nothing really profound here. cheerleading for US and NATO’s warmongering. Ukraine is a failed state. US NATO doesn’t respect sovereignty, why should anyone else? Back to Geopolitics 101.

Wallace, Somebody lying the Black Sea is full of ship, even in Ukraine port, who can afford to leave a ship in port 6 month Google Marine Traffic Blacksea

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Rodney,

All profits from Ukrainian grain should be confiscated and paid in subsidies to offset the crazy energy prices ordinary European families have to pay.

Almost correct but I think you meant “All profits from Russian grain should be confiscated …”

Russia is planning to start shipping more grain so there will be something to confiscate, and they are the ones that caused all this so that’s where it should start.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

I hope they checked it for IED’s and be sure to inspect for toxins.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Nothing really profound here. cheerleading for US and NATO’s warmongering.

NATO warmongering? lol Neither the US nor NATO invaded Ukraine like Russia did/is.

 Ukraine is a failed state.

lol No it isn't. Only a cheerleader for imperialist Russian would make such a nakedly absurd claim.

NATO doesn’t respect sovereignty, why should anyone else?

Yawn, another pathetic attempt at diverting the blame away from imperialist Russia.

Good god, Google Victoria Nuland for starters, then CIA coups, then Iran 1953 (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/aug/19/cia-admits-role-1953-iranian-coup).

Of course the US “said” they weren’t involved in the Iranian coup at the time.

Not all of us goose step to the MSM.

@fizzbit

Your Quotes are straight out of the kremlin handbook.

no one but Putin fanboys & Russian apologists believe that rubbish

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Rodney,

with all due respect, but ......

"Ukraine has to start paying back the world for the harm it has done."

You really don't know what you're talking about, option number 1.

You are yet another mouthpiece for the Kremlin (or was it Gremlin?), option number 2.

You don't see or understand the facts, option number 3.

You are just a troll (not to be fed), option number 4.

Whatever it is, the harm was not done by Ukraine, but was imposed upon Ukraine by Russia.

Remember who started this "limited operation"? Remember who committed all the war crimes as well as atrocities? Obviously not, and I don't have the time to remind you. But, please, get your facts straight!

We're talking about what is going on in Ukraine today - 2022 - not what happened in Iran 70 years ago.
