I see a lot of posts by Canadians on social media saying they wish they had a strong leader like Trump.

With Canada's resources, including oil, gas, clean water, minerals, etc. and with Canada being such an important trade partner and ally, it's more important than ever for the US to do what it can to maintain and improve elations with our northern neighbor.
I see posts by 'Americans' saying they want a strong leader like Putin; called by some a 'stud'.

I was surprised to see that as well, especially in Calgary where a lot of them are begging to come to the US, definitely US friendly.
It is and will
Yeah, looking at Biden, it does make one ponder the comparison.

Trudeau picked the political stance, but it was a smart one.
Trump is about to burn down America over the next few months. While speaking out on social issues is important, this tinder box that is America is America's problem, and it's not the Canadian government's place to speak on internal American issues. While speaking out would serve social issues, Trump is particularly vindictive as a human being, and would likely respond in an aggressive manner against all of Canada. It's Trudeau's job to further the country, not to act against its best interests.
So he was correct in his response - leave America to talk about America, and address the problems in his own house. One should make sure their own house is clear before speaking on others, and the Canadian government has its own issues of police aggression against minorities.
Now is a time for all countries to reflect on their own situation, to make sure they don't end up in the same place as America. America has given the world a clear example of how to do it wrong, now other countries can learn from those lessons and do it right (not that they all will).

No surprise that during the 2016 election any number of posters, including some claiming to be 'Americans', wrote they wanted to have a Putin-ish leader, then went on to support Trump. And what they got was a puppet. hmmm SMH ROFL

Yes, considering I don’t need a lecture about race relations in the USA by a non American who wore blackface.

@Serrano
Polls show Trump with a low approval rating in Canada.
Be careful with social media. Trump’s Twitter account is a toilet.

Trump has "no" approval rating in Canada. I don't know anyone that can stand the guy, and most consider him to be a fake president. On Trudeau's 20 seconds of silence that was his protest, it was perfect. Most politician's would have walked away or wouldn't answer the question. Good job Justin!

Who exactly did Trudeau take knee for? The cynic in me says the CCP...
