Mr Kipling
A beautiful country with many problems, most caused by the Catholic church.
Fighto!
In many other nations with significant Catholic presence - places like Italy, Ireland etc - divorce is now readily available. The Philippine authorities have to accept much of the blame here.

As far as I'm concerned the Catholic church is a fear-mongering facade and people who commit themselves to its rigid dogma should be helped to shed that medieval mindset.

Actually, there are exceptions with divorce in the Philippines. Divorce is legal amongst Muslim communities and if one of the spouses is a foreigner. Other than that, anulments are allowed there as well as voidable marriages (any contract marriages or if the couples are incapable of marriage).

Laws based on any religion need to be revised or eliminated to keep up with the 21st century.

Stupid laws by stupid governments getting in the way of justice.
