President Donald Trump’s tax plan includes a repeal of the federal estate tax paid by people who inherit multimillion-dollar estates. That break could directly benefit people with valuable art collections. Trump’s wealthy cabinet includes a number of art collectors.

The good news is Trump and his fellow .01% are coming out in the open, admitting they're out for themselves at the expense of the rest of the US population.

The bad news is his base is unwilling to see he's once again shafting them. TRUMP

Germans buy German. Japanese buy Japanese. Chinese swell with pride to buy Chinese. We buy the cheapest. I think this country has been surviving on the savings and inheritances of the WWII and Boomer generations and when that dries up there will be another spike of people sinking into near poverty.

Start with Trump's daughter's fashion lines, made in Vietnam and China under brutal conditions!

Very true. I don't really have a problem with the government spending a bit extra to buy local as long as it's kept within reason (ie. not sustaining or creating industries that would never be viable without government support).

what country does NOt promote its own goods? Why does America have to be the worlds welfare?

admitting they're out for themselves at the expense of the rest of the US population.

what a dumb statement. Loosening taxes for business starters is how you create jobs for unskilled workers, which is the majority of the population.

This si why since Trump took over the US economy, stocks and jobs have skyrocketed. Although you wont see that in the news, its more hip and fun to bash him.

USA cannot compete in Japan, unless Yen is a lot stronger.

It's a basic principle of modern economics that specialization increases productivity. It makes more sense to specialize and trade for what you don't specialize in, than to try and do everything and be mediocre at it.

Yes, because that’s what Americans want, why do you think Walmart is so big?

I think this country has been surviving on the savings and inheritances of the WWII and Boomer generations and when that dries up there will be another spike of people sinking into near poverty.

Massive entitlement spending and income redistribution doesn’t help either.

For many items I agree with this as this can be a national security issue. I do not see an issue with the U.S. government giving preference to U.S. companies when purchasing products and services. Most other countries do the same.

The greedy (1% or whatever one wants to call them) sold out the American worker long ago which has lead to quite a disparity between wealth and poor in the U.S. which shows no signs of reversing itself.

Indeed. 'Self-sufficiency is the road to poverty', as they say. North Korea is a good example of that.

However, the principle rests on the theoretical assumption that the world you're living in is not a protectionist one. If it is, then no matter how productive you are, and no matter how great or cheap a product you make, you won't be able to sell it to Japanese or Chinese consumers.

The estate tax only applies to estates greater than $11 million. Trump is doing this for himself.

I think the rich should have enough money to invest, build, educate and train as many people as they can to bring people up, but we haven’t had the chance to do that for awhile.

Corporations are sitting on record amounts of cash and the top 10% have been getting a near monopoly on all new wealth creation for decades while worker productivity has soared. Since your criteria of more wealth to the job creators already exists, where are the results you're promising?

I really have no problem with the US government working to support American businesses as long as we work within the framework of the agreements we have with other countries.

None of those companies ran for president on a "buy American" platform.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Ran for president and WON based on this policy and many others. So this is what the people who elected him want and expect.

Procurements by the US government should be from US companies. Anything else may the best product win in the consumer market.

What does her buying shoes have anything to do with him? You guys! Lol

Nice deflection or so How about answering the question now, please.

Corporations are sitting on record amounts of cash and the top 10% have been getting a near monopoly on all new wealth creation for decades while worker productivity has soared.

Most of these workers in many of the factories aren’t American and many are illegal, so why should they get paid more than an American worker? If so many of these companies had less illegals to work for them, we could give these jobs to Americans.

Since your criteria of more wealth to the job creators already exists, where are the results you're promising?

Let’s see, it’s been 9 months, Rome wasn’t built in a day, but it did take 8 years for the last admin to throw a monkey wrench in the works to decimate the middle class. In 4 to 8 years if the middle isn’t coming up as promised, digress.

USA wants to be poverty stricken as fast as possible. Corporate welfare state. Some kind of corporate communism essentially where only oligarchy matters. It's deranged

USA wants to be poverty stricken as fast as possible.

That's especially happening in the most liberal cities

Are you talking about in America?

Let’s see, it’s been 9 months

Their record cash and workers wages have been going on for a lot longer than 9 months.

Are you talking about in America?

Was that a rhetorical question?

Their record cash and workers wages have been going on for a lot longer than 9 months.

Give it time, having an exploding Stock Market and confidence in it is one thing, the rest will come. It took the anointed one 8 years to devastate the middle class it will take at least a good 4 to 8 to see it come back to a decent level, especially once they get tax reform passed.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Was that a rhetorical question?

Well, no. I said that corporations are sitting on record amounts of cash and you said that most factory workers aren't American and are illegal. I didn't quite follow what you were saying. My point was that the cash is already there and the decent paying jobs aren't, so telling more more cash would get more decent paying jobs doesn't make sense. The data tells us more cash just means more cash without any of the benefits you are claiming.

It took the anointed one 8 years to devastate the middle class

The issue of the wealth gap and fat worker wages has been going on since the 1980s regardless of who is in the White House.

fat = flat
