Over the years, relations between North and South have seen their ups and downs. At least they aren't shooting at each other.

Had a supervisor who was an escapee from North Korea. I have often wondered how he is doing. Well, I hope.

@serrano We can thank China for coming into the war on the North Koreans' side for this.

"Mao was pushed by Stalin."

By all means then, let's blame Russia for the separation of Korea.

Yes, this event has occurred before but there is a difference!

The progress between North and South is on an upward path.

Transport links, shared events,

trade etc will accelerate this year and into 2019.

That is the reality and the US has been instrumental in this progress.

It's difficult for us to understand just how life is inside North Korea - these people don't know anything abut the world outside, so when they come face-to-face with a vibrant democracy, it's a culture shock far beyond what we would understand. I read a terrific book about life inside this repressed country, told by those who managed to get out, and their transition wasn't easy at all, as this story notes - https://johnrieber.com/2015/08/13/nothing-to-envy-the-horror-of-life-in-north-korea-brilliant-book-looks-at-this-isolated-hell/

Brother fighting brother. This armistice needs to end. Trumpo and his neocon stooges need to stay miles away from this.

Unorthodox though his actions may have been, I doubt we would have seen this happen had it not been for the summit.

Yeah it’s not like this has ever happened before... right?

Amazing progress. Thank you President Trump. Unorthodox though his actions may have been, I doubt we would have seen this happen had it not been for the summit.

This is nice. But sad that they have been split apart so long.

"Most of their families were driven apart during the 1950-53 Korean War, which ended in a ceasefire, not a peace treaty, leaving the Korean Peninsula still in a technical state of war."

We can thank China for coming into the war on the North Koreans' side for this.
