29 people have been killed in Juarez in the past 24 hours, bringing the year's murder total to 61 for the year.
It's kind of incredible to think about how Juarez - a city of 1.6 million or so - has more than twice as many murders each year as the entire nation of Japan - a country of 127 million.
But that's Mexico for you...

If that comment weren't so tragic, it would be funny. Obviously every ice addict is a healthy and contributing member of society. [/sarcasm]

How's the border fence coming along?

The Mexican drugs gangs are using machine guns and stuff brought in from China and other SA countries. All of that is illegal in the US. So whatever is going on in Mexico you can't blame the US except for the demand for illegal drugs. Making the drugs legal would go a long way to solving that problem. Prohibition obviously doesn't work.

NRA success story as the guns used by the mexican mafia all come US manufacturers. Nice going NRA, its not enough that 15,000 die in the US due to guns, now you can export death to Mexico so 8000 more people get shot to death per year.
Mexico has strict gun control like most civilized states.

A sweeping generalization and an inaccurate one. Trafficking in quite a few EAsian, SAsian and African nations will result in pretty swift death penalty. Not so much in Western countries.

Obama needs to get US troops into Mexico to teach these punks a lesson.

No they don't. The governments of the Western nations are as much to blame for making drugs illegal with no scientific rationale for doing so.

Anyone who buys or uses drugs has these deaths on his conscience.

biglittleman-- I second that. You couldn't pay me to visit there for one day! Or even less than that!
