Mexican Drug Cartel = Al Qaida-like mentality. Such a beautiful country but who wants to go there anymore.

As long as there is demand for drugs in the U.S., there will be someone to supply them. The problem doesn't originate in Mexico or Colombia or Peru. It's in the U.S.

in a strange way, kind of reminds me of the opium war - britain forcing china at gunpoint to take in opium.

The main problem is not the drugs, but the 100000 of weapons available so easily to this "social cancer", if they don't have weapons it would be easier for the authorities to put them in jail or... take'em down!!

Way more complicated than most of us here think. Poverty is one big reason people anywhere say to themselves something like, I AM GOING TO WASH TOILETS FOR 3 USD a day?? Or start harvesting marijuana etc..and let some other fool be happy for harvesting my drugs for 3 bucks an hour?? It is a huge, huge $$$$$$$$$$ money to be made night and day in this trade, thanks to all the pot head not only North of the Border but to all the drug addicts all over the world, so many young folk not only in Mexico feel what the heck better to live like rich guy with nice clothes, cars, hot women for a few months years and die in a hale of bullets than to live like a poor beggar for the rest of my life, this is the mentality and this is not going to end anytime soon, my guess even if you LEGALIZE ALL OF THESE DRUGS. So sad, but this is life and this is death.
