It appears that the Jamaran got a bit excited and fired their new toy before the other ship could clear the area. Trigger happy bunch.

Very pleased that Iran came right out and declared the accident, without fabrications or pointing fingers. Whilst no fan of Iran at all, RIP to the sailors. And yes, the story ended midway bt AFP just had to throw in the United States and Trump even though neither had anything to do with this.

Glad they used it on themselves instead of a US warship. I dont need people in here screaming that "Trump started a war to deflect from (insert: liberal issue of the day)!!!
As a military man, I do respect the sailors who gave their lives in service.
so RIP to the Iranian sailors and condolences to their families, terrible accident. I wont be having the same thoughts if they try to shoot it at US ships though.

It is funny how the article writer manages to bring in Trump into article about an internal Iranian accident.
But that that is out "mainstream" media for you.

It’s definitely a conspiracy by the msm to take down Trump, the duly elected president, who tweeted about the incident which the article is about.
If all you sensitive conservatives don’t want to read about Trump, get him to stay off twitter.

wow, 2 "Trump references" and 4 "United States" references.
In an article about Iran blowing up their own stuff all by themselves.
I am certainly glad the US had nothing to do with it.

"The vessel was hit after moving a practice target to its destination and not creating enough distance between itself and the target," said the channel.
Range, accuracy, potency. All checked out pretty well.
Test successful.

Quote: "The vessel was hit after moving a practice target to its destination and not creating enough distance between itself and the target," said the channel.
That sentence lays the blame directly on the Konarak for not moving out of the way quickly enough.
Quote: hit by "'friendly fire' after (the) Moudge-class frigate Jamaran accidentally shot (it) with a missile during live firing exercise in Jask area of #PersianGulf waters"
This sentence lays the blame on the Jamaran for firing by mistake.
The news agency then calls on people to "avoid speculation", after having just speculated twice, contradicting itself.

Seems they have a record of very expensive mistakes so far.

Yep. Best to stay on high alert.

Sad that deaths have occurred even if not an ally.
While they are certain that they are in heaven, I am not sure if all this effort by their military is worth the risk for humanity. May they rest in peace and help us bring peace to the area.

It is unfortunate that anyone died or got injured, but it is the purpose of war games to iron out the bugs, so to speak. If something like this happened during a show of force, it could lead to a misunderstanding, and an even larger disaster.
As for Trump, does anyone still pay attention to him?

Does the article blame the US or Trump or say anything bad about them at all? Geez you guys are sensitive.
