I see the conspiracy theorists are out in force now. "The Mounties are stupid, don't they understand Iran is Shiite, not Sunni?" "It's a Mossad plot to link Iran and terror and provide an excuse for war", etc., etc., etc.
When the public reinterprets the story, it is called conspiracy theory. When politicians do it, they get called spin doctors.

Like cockroaches roaming the planet. Leave Canada alone, better yet leave us all alone.

Surely you mean, "They succeeded beacause they got lucky," ?
Otherwise, your logic is of a type only you can comprehend.
Are you seriously suggesting Canada had been luckier if the police had not succeded? Good grief.

Lizz:
Why? The Iranian mullahs do not agree with Al Quaeda´s Sunni ideology, but they both agree in their grand war against the West. Cooperation between Sunni and Shiite fundamantalists is absolutely not something new.

They got lucky because they succeeded. But they will not succeed in inflitrating all jihadist terror plots. Are you seriously suggesting Canada had been luckier if the police had not succeded? Good grief.

What makes alot of my fellow Canadians look and sound like morons is saying that terrorism can't happen to us. We shouldve made an apology to all the Muslims that we mistreat.

" We need at the least a “no-ride” list barring suspected terrorists from Amtrak trains because of the potential threat of an attack."
I suppose you would also TSA checkpoints at every bus station, and state borders as well. "Show us your papers!" Welcome to USSA/TSA. Land of the Free.

WilliB: You sound almost excited. The police did their jobs to the fullest, and it was not 'luck'.
Lizz
I am surprised to hear of a friendly link between Al-Qaeda and Iran, but in any case the group has had a known interest in Amtrak since 2011 or before, so I doubt this is the end of it. We need at the least a “no-ride” list barring suspected terrorists from Amtrak trains because of the potential threat of an attack.

@Willi
How is a successful police operation resulting in no loss of life "lucky"? I'm no fan of the cops in any country I've lived in, but it seems to me the RCMP did a pretty good job here.
WilliB
Canada got lucky again. Eventually, a jihadist will succeed, and Canada will have its own WTC / Fort Hood / Boston massacre. At which point the media and politicians will all pretend to be surprised.
