2 British tourists found murdered on Thai beach

I'm really sorry for this young couple, R.I.P. Hope the police catches who did it, but if it's random killing somehow I don't think they'll be able to.

It has been reported that the woman had been raped and that people are not allowed to leave the island.

If their ages are known, I don't see how "unidentified" can apply. What the writer probably means is their names were withheld pending notification of next of kin.
