2 charged in Chicago park shooting that wounded 13

Do most Americans care of all the killings going on in US inner cities (Blacks, Latinos, non-white, and sure as hell non UPPER CLASS whites) my answer is a simple, OF COURSE NOT! If these killings happened like in Sandy Hook etc..rich, upper class White areas of the USA, it will be on CNN, BBC etc..24/7. As long as these killings continue Black on Black, or Latino on Latino or Black vs. Latino, no one on the so called "Main street USA" will give a rat's ass. If this violence spills out of the non-white urban areas, heaven forbid into wealthier upper class WHITE areas, then we will see the same old chorus of talking heads give us some kind of information of how bad the inner city urban situation is. The reality is that as long as the urban lower classes keep killing each other over drugs, $$, gangs, no one really cares (except for the parents, family and friends of the inner city gang members and their victims) As long as the USA only punishes drug dealers but NOT drug users, this situation will only get worse.

Unfortunately, US education is failing. There are many stats available if you are serious in doing research on this issue.

There is a strong link between education and poverty. It is called a Theory of Cycle of Poverty written by Oscar Lewis. I suggest you do some reading to see how these American kids who are born in poverty cannot break this bad cycle and stay in poverty. Also there is a link between poverty and crime. You can read some reading on this subject too. Good luck.

This is a daily occurrence in Chicago. Funny how no mainstream TV picks this up, but will blab on about viral YouTube videos. Illegal guns are everywhere and the politicians are doing nothing to go after the dealers, or enforcing law in these areas. Rom Emanuel and Obama should be ashamed of themselves, too.

Disagree. The rate of gun deaths in the inner cities poorest neighborhoods was about ten times the rate compared to affluent neighborhoods. By growing up poor makes an individual person more likely to commit violence. They have low socioeconomic status, being on welfare, and living in bad neighborhood and high parental stress, since poverty has been shown to increase stress. But how could U.S. goverment reduce poverty in today's economic climate?

I believe the answer is a quality on education. If you read a book of "Wealth of Nation", Adam Smith talks about an importance of education. I often think about a famous quote "Give them a tool, so that they can fight" by Winston Churchill before going into WWII. And that's something Obama is trying to do from his day one in Washington.

I agree. There should be mandatory "no-plea deal" sentences for the use andor possession of illegal guns. The mandatory sentences should be applied regardless of whether it's a first-time offense, an individual's "good record," etc. "You possess an illegal gun, you go to jail!" Period! End of story!

Nah -- guns aren't a problem at all. These guys could have caused the damage they did with plastic airplane models, or maybe toilet paper.
