Thousands? Is this accurate?
You also have wonder about this number. 170 pedophile priests needed the church to cover for them? In the Dublin area alone? And not just any pedophile but presumably homo-pedos? Have you any idea how that extrapolates when you consider the homo-pedos in other professions and across the whole country? Now consider straight pedos. Pedophilia would seem to be more common than IRA supporters!
Something is definitely wrong here.

numbskull; The Irish catholic church was a well known shelter for gay paedos. The church elders lacked morals when dealing with this problem and the numbers do not surprise me at all.

??? You can't possibly believe that all or most gay pedos become priests!? Okay, knowing your record, maybe you can. I am not even saying I disbelieve the numbers, but to say one is not surprised??? To not question the numbers??? Okay, again, knowing you...

Wait a second, that isn't what DickMorris stated. He wrote, 'the Irish catholic church was a well known shelter for gay pedos.' He didn't say "all" or "most" gay pedophiles become priests. However, it is obvious that there are many Catholic priests that are both homosexual and pedophiles. Access to children in a trusting situation is likely a reason for the desire on the part of gay pedophiles to become priests. It is quite similar to how it used to be with gay scout master's. However, the Boy Scouts have not covered up for the abuses and have actively sought to prevent them these predators from getting such trusted positions. It is both a moral and legal failing on the part of leaders in the Catholic Church for not handling this problem so as to protect children from abusers.

Remember when the Catholic church, here in the US, finally had to open their records and priests and bishops were outed and taken to court. Until Ireland does the same thing, the skeletons will continue to creep out of the walls.

Very true. Get it out in the open and deal with it; it's the only way.

-and the Irish public school system hopes the heat will stay on the Church, so their homosexual child molesting cover-ups will stay outta the light.

Wolfpack, its not just what Dick said, but what he said in response to me. That response looks to me like it takes issues with the numbers problem I pointed out. Had he not addressed it directly to me, I would have had nothing to say to his post.
