How can a human being put a child into a hot clothes dryer and spin it around?

I do not even know of anyone who would do this to a stray dog... I am completely sick right now..

I am going to hug my daughter tonight.

W.T.F!!!!!!!!!!! is wrong with people today!!??!! That's not even freakin human! I too will be hugging my children tonight, and am saddened that burning in hell still isn't even close to a fit punishment for all involved, though it's a start...

Life sentence = 10 years?? So these jokers will come out into society perhaps around their early 30s? These guys don't deserve the constant meals and dry place to sleep they will have in jail. God I hope they get it from the other inmates.

I hope they take away their passports so they don't come and pollute the rest of the world when they're RELEASED from jail.

........just point less........... Damn hate it when people hurt innocent kids.... Same age as my youngest....

10 years isnt even a sentence..... In the states the othr prisoners would give them the whole life sentence for sure......

Sad sad sad

They aren't human.

10 years isnt even a sentence" This hits me hard, like my dad's killers only got a few years too... When governments screw up like this and let actual killers go unpunished it is time to take back our security responsibilities and form vigilante crews.....

I hope someone really gets to them.

”The case exposed a circle of family neglect that included the girl’s mother, who was found guilty of manslaughter because she failed to protect her child."

As she should, and I'm pleased that the other relatives in the family are also going to face charges, though they aren't going to also get murder raps like they should. I too hope they get more than 10 years on a life-sentence, and perhaps they will. Regardless, fellow criminals in the pen usually don't take to this kind of sickness very well and these guys and maybe mom too will likely get some 'bullying' soon of their own. Don't get me wrong, I'm not cheering for what these people are going to face, but after reading what they did, I'm just happy that they didn't get off. The charges these people are receiving, and those who are receiving charges by extension via neglect, should be a model for countries like Japan, where this thread is based. All to often we hear in other places about 'suspended sentences' even for those directly involved in the planning and execution of crimes. This is a different country, of course, and the sickness of this crime is beyond heinous, but my point is I'm glad none are escaping punishment.

NZz are one of the nicest people i have ever met.I can say for sure that these people are exceptional cases as far as NZ is concerned. Still, they should be punished severly for their crime and being exceptional in such a horrific manner in such a beutiful country

There are times that death penalty cases are discussed. I'm against the death pernalty in most cases. But I'm leaning against it here in this case. I can not believe this.

Too bad it's not an eye for an eye sometimes. < :-)

i, too, am in priniciple against the death penalty, but in my current enraged state i am all for calling in couple of the homes to go to work on these mf's with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch...

How the hell can people do something like this? A three yer old child sick a**holes. What kind of arrangement is going on when one of the mruderers whose 19 is shacked up with the mother whose 35? I am assuming the child was not his. These two and for that matter the mother represent the lowest of all human trash.

My NZ mate assured me that those guys were gonna go to deep deep hell in prison. Lets hope so. They are they most putrid, rotten souls on the planet. I hope they die in pain. NZ is a welfare state. They all had money to live off, the kid had access to free medical care...in the end they are just all monsters.

useless rubbish. I would rather take a hand in it to be sure.

Dear SKIPTHESONG, why do you even relate the incident to a stray dog? It would have been equally appauling whether this kind of torture was done to a stray dog as to that poor baby. Anyway, I believe that the death sentence should be reinstated to fit crimes such as these.

This is just sick. I guess that there is no end to depravity. Hope they get taught a few lessons in prison.

Skip is right, even a dog shouldn't suffer this way.

I just read the link that romulus3 posted. I don't know how they could only be sentencede with 20 years.

May they be left one at a time with real criminals who know how to treat child abusers. Repeatedly. < :-)

All the adults in the house knew, the neighbours knew, and yet not a single one of them could be bothered making an anonymous call to the police or social services to save her.

From the BBC article "Court officials said they had been shocked at how some witnesses found the level of violence in the home to be normal." who on earth would find violence against a 3-year-old normal?
