Makes perfect sense

You don't have gun laws in your country?
Otherwise, your comment does not make sense referring to the US, coming from a non-US citizen.
bass4funk
Or proper mental care
Also, many children as well as people would be killed without it, so you can make a good argument for both sides
wallace
People who oppose gun laws are part of the problem and very sadly many many more children will continue to be slaughtered in the name of gun freedom.

There you go, it’s an Organization’s fault, not the individual.
”Sigh”.

You can blame Hollywood and the advent of Video Games with murder and mayhem for this to happen over and over again…..and NOT the NRA as your friendly neighborhood liberal would have you believe.
When I went to high school here in North Florida, it was quite common to see trucks with gun racks that had rifles and shotguns in them, because guys would go hunting after school…although considered strange, or not really the norm, nobody really gave it much thought, it was NOT illegal. Nobody KILLED anyone, it never caused any problems, nobody would think of hurting anyone, it just WASN'T DONE.
Fast forward to today (or the past twenty + years), where guns and murder have been glorified in movies, video games show gory details of any number of ways to harm your fellow man and you have a recipe for disaster… the perfect Hollywood script.
Mr Kipling
Only 2 dead is obviously a tragedy for the families involved but in this age of mass shootings. is hardly news worthy. Why even report on them? The cause is plain to see for everyone outside the US and yet nothing is done as it is politically delicate. I honestly think that nothing will ever be done until every family loses at least one member to gun violence.
bass4funk
Lol
bass4funk
No, I have, you just didn’t focus
to even think or allow the federal government, which, increasingly more people don’t trust to gather up all private information, and God knows what they would do with it, that’s unthinkable for millions of Americans
I disagree.
We have enough laws on the books, they’re just not enforced enough, look at Chicago and California.

A gunman broke into a St Louis high school Monday morning, fatally shooting a woman and a teenage girl and wounding six others before police killed him in an exchange of gunfire.
The non-US citizens spouting off here do not understand the demographics behind these kind of incidents.

It is against the law in the US to murder young children, with guns.
wallace
bass4funk
actually you have not and a deep drive into your archives revealed what I have said. You are more about deflections than reflections.
The lack of gun laws which prevent young children from being murdered is truly disgusting and offensive to thinking people.
400 millions guns, not the 30 million you posted for a pop of 325 million and only about 40% own one.
Make laws and stop killing children like you do with your anti-abortion stance. Protect children during pregnancy but not once they are born.
bass4funk
I have given many suggestions, but you guys hate guns so much, you’re not listening.
Of course.
Yes
You can make the same argument about healthcare when the Dems controlled all 3 branches of government
wallace
bass4funk
of the many hundreds of posts you have made on gun homicides and mass murders not once have you posted any real solution to your country’s very ugly and tragic tale of more than 1.5 million killed by guns, and not including suicides since the killing of John Lennon.
Constantly defending your right to the Second Amendment. Blaming it all on democrats. Even when the WH and the Congress were Republican nothing changed.
Bob Fosse
Remind me, which state is that?
You frequently lay blame at a state or city. Did so even when 45 was at the helm.
So, who is to blame?
bass4funk
Duly noted, give us the same courtesy
Cards fan
So let's do absolutely nothing, right?
Ah yes, let's ignore facts that are inconvenient to my love of guns. Brilliant.
lol No. More people don't die of "choking" give me a break.
But not having guns here isn't dangerous now, is it?
Bob Fosse
What on earth are you on about now?
bass4funk
There are over 30 million guns. Even if you could implement stricter laws, we already have tough laws, they just need to be more enforced. There is the underground market and you’ll never control that.
I don’t care what they have, it doesn’t matter, move on and?.
To a point, more people die of chocking actually.
Cards fan
Because easy gun access in the US gets a lot of people killed.
I'm not telling you, you have to care about other countries. I'm pointing out how they have tough gun laws and lower firearm crime rates, while the US has weak gun laws and higher firearm crimes. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the connection.
lol No you can't. Far more people are killed by guns than are "saved" by guns.
bass4funk
If the public wanted that the Dems could have done this when they controlled both chambers of congress and they didn’t.,
I disagree. Not having them is sad and dangerous.
bass4funk
Why?
I don’t care about other countries, I don’t live in them. Just the US and Japan
Yes
You can make the same counter argument that it saves lives as well.
Cards fan
lol Why shouldn't we restrict access to guns? Are they more important than kids? Sad.
Cards fan
Ah yes, do nothing because we (the right) have spread a bunch of gobbledygook about how untrustworthy the FBI is. Brilliant.
Bob Fosse
It’s odd. I can’t find any information about Missouri Senators advocating a mental health budget. Just stuff about them getting $6 million from the nra and talking about the second amendment.
Maybe they are rinos and secretly ‘Dems’ trying to undermine the Republicans serious efforts to address ‘mental health’ instead of guns.
Cards fan
Why wouldn't you want to take a look at the second amendment?
All countries have people struggling with mental illness, but they don't all have the same number of shootings. Why? Because the US has a ton of guns, but the right wants that taken off the table, because the second amendment is more important than keeping kids safe.
Bob Fosse
Ok.
Firstly, ‘mental issues’. Being an angry teenager isn’t an issue. All teenagers go through this. But not all teenagers can buy guns.
Red flag? Ok. Who knows about this red flag? The gun store? The police?
Neither apparently did. So your ‘red flag’ is pretty useless, isn’t it?
You want his parents to follow him around 24/7? Get him locked up for having ‘mental issues’?
How do you propose using your ‘red flag’?
wallace
so the doors were locked. There is nothing in the article about the killer, 20, having mental issues.
All gun buyers need to pass a psychological test first which is a requirement here in Japan.
bass4funk
Not the schools, the disturbed individual that committed the crime
They always wanted more money spent on mental research and help. Dems said no, they want to focus only on the 2nd amendment.
And Stil they are happening, again, Biden not getting any credit because it didn’t solve anything. Nothing and the parents know it.
wallace
Per capita, Texas and Florida have the highest rates of mass shootings.
bass4funk
Yes, unfortunate.
But did have mental issues, Red flag
Of course in that case it should not have happened, that fault doesn’t rest with the gun or seller, it rests with his family, they didn’t pay attention to the red flags.
wallace
bass4funk
were Columbine and Sandy Hook unsafe schools prior to the mass shootings? Nothing changed even when the Republicans were in power.
The shooter in this article wasn’t a kid.
Biden has provided more funding for schools and education than the cuts made by Trump.
Bob Fosse
Having one door?
The Fire Department rejected that one.
’Troubled schools’? Like this one?
The 19 year old ex-student who did this had no police record. Just another teenager with a gun.
In Missouri. Tell Josh Harley all about it.
bass4funk
Not to mention they have the death penalty and it’s enforced.
bass4funk
There were many solutions given in troubled schools as to what precautions they can take, the Dems rejected all of them.
I still believe troubled schools should have armed guards 1-2 and teachers given the option to use a firearm if they want. If Dems don’t want to give more aid in dealing with mentally disturbed kids then the next best thing is to arm the teachers.
Bob Fosse
Whereas Texas and Florida are just rainbows and hugs.
By the way. The article you are commenting on, which state did it happen in?
wallace
Gun homicides are one of the most horrific aspects of daily American life. But gun homicides and mass murder of children are one of the most horrific aspects of life. Schools cannot be considered safe places for children.
So sad the adults refuse to do anything to protect the children in the room and prefer to find justifications for their Second Amendment.
bass4funk
Wrong! Just depends where you live. Never ever witnessed violence, but then again, I don’t live in a blue state either. Now if you live in California, Chicago, NYC, Detroit or Baltimore to name a few chaotic places, then yes,
Japan has its own issues, I prefer to have freedom, the 1st-2nd amendment freedom of choice, endless selection on just about anything and diversity any day of the week.
That’s ok
No, conservatives believe as an American and law abiding citizen it is your absolute right to own one. l
No, it’s not allowing big government to think that it has the right to dictate to the masses and abuse their authority without a public consensus.
Of course women have rights, more rights than men in many aspects. Men didn’t start the "me too” movement
TokyoLiving
In the US you are never safe.
Not in the church, supermarket, school, mall, hospital, bank, restaurant, etc.
You will always be subject to a madman with an assault rifle showing up and killing you at any moment..
The more news I read about the US, the more I love my safe, clean, civilized and gun-free JAPAN!!..
Thank God I don't live in that country..
Not only do the far-right want to give guns to everyone, but also thoughts and prayers after a shooting, that is their great solution to the problem of gun violence..
That is the thirdworldish medieval world of "freedom" of the far-right conservatives, where an assault rifle has more rights than a woman..
JTC
You simply have to watch some of the videos posted onto TicTok or Reddit to see how big a problem gun violence is within the US. And when you see Kids showing off their guns, you have to wonder what's happened to the Fabric of Society there. There's even stupid videos of people pointing guns near their heads, and the gun goes off, luckily leaving them only with a bloodied ear... but come on, a gun is not a fashion accessory ... which it has seemingly become over there.
Bob Fosse
We had fire drills when I was in school.
It’s horrific to imagine kids in the US have shooter drills.
lincolnman
And another school shooting....
And our far-right friends want to give everyone a gun - carry them anywhere...well, except at NRA conventions and Trump rallies...no guns allowed there...
https://www.npr.org/2022/05/25/1101181842/nra-trump-speech-guns-banned-houston
Need a license to drive a car? OK.... Need a license to buy a gun? Are you crazy - FREEDOM....
Freedom to have our children cower in fear everyday they step into a school...
That's craziness...and that's MAGA-world....
