Great speed, comrade.
They are begging China to send food and weapons now, this is how much of a nothing Russian army is. Pootin will be brushing Xi Jing Ping's shoes at this pace in a couple of weeks. He made Russia "great" again, bringing it to the level of North Korea at international stage. Bravo!

Russia's export are 60 percent that for oil and gas... If they were too stop the gas supply to Europe they'd be hurting themselves the most. They have nothing else to offer to Europe except for resources. This is how much of a zero as a country they are.
They couldn't even afford to cut the gas supply to Ukraine, a country they invaded...

Say that to the woman on the Russian TV with the banner "no to war" and others like her who were carried away by the police for their free speech in multiple places around Russia. Very much free speech, in deed. XD

Source: Russian propaganda.
Thanks VM for your "insight"

I bet that all the Pro-Putin posters here are saying this BS because they are living in a safe country with all, let me call it , western comfort and enjoy the killing of women and children by this mass murderer Putin and his Russian insane mass murderer Mob on a 72" TV flat screen from their Sofa with some, let me call it, western chips.
As long as they are not involved personally, such people always have a big mouth.
And such idiots, who cheer up and praise a mass-murderer Mob would completely change their BS War Propaganda as soon as they are involved personally.
But it is easy to sit on the sofa in a safe country, and open your big mouth with War Propaganda.
And as long as such stupid as...holes are around, the life and image of all the nice and peaceful Russians all over the world, will be more damaged.
But these idiotic war propaganda people have an intelligent level lower as dog sh..t, therefore they will never understand that.

Another one.
Please tell us what we should be reading or watching.

VM - What country are you from? In the US, our freedom of speech specifically states that "Congress shall make no law...". Our States' constitutions may have similar provisions, but they can't contradict our 1st Amendment rights.
Not sure how things work in your country, but in my country (and also Japan, I believe), this forum and others like it are not "public", but rather "private".

It is so easy to be focused on the geopolitical situation. It is critical to remain connected to the tragic personal cost that is inflicted on individuals.
These pictures are worth a thousand tears.

Russia has left the council of Europe.

Do you think they would admit to a failure? How naive are you? It was supposed to be a blitzkrieg and Ukrainians were supposed to greet the Russian army with flowers but instead you have even the Russians living inside Ukraine agianst you and most of the world agianst you, bringing Russia 30 years back economically in matter of days.
UChosePoorly
Freedom of Speech is really freedom from consequences from government, at least in my country, and doesn't typically extend to non-state actors. For example, I wouldn't let you spew Russian propaganda in my living room, but they government can't fine you or put you in prison for it. Your country may be different, of course. If JT wants to allow it on their forum, then that is their right.

I prefer NATO propaganda a million times over that of RT, Putin's and his cronies. I'm ready to admit that some of it might be ven a blatant lie!
As long as it gives hope to the Ukrainians fighting for their and our freedom. Anything to stop Russians imperialism.
Wouldn't you?
UChosePoorly
All of Ukraine? What do you think is next after Ukraine for Putin?
Express sister
That's good. Helps people to avoid you.

How can Russia and exit save face?

Quoting RT (Ruski Tw*ts) should be prohibited here on Japan today, like it has been on multiple other platforms.

“Softening demand” for surrender doesn’t mean brutality doesn’t continue.
Takeaway: “fundamental contradictions” continue.

Is the above an example of what's fun to Russians? Do the pictures of the residential areas bombed out by the Russian military also make Russians and other Putin cultists chuckle?
But to the poster's point: European nations, like so many others around the world have allowed themselves to be made vulnerable to Russian and others in the global gas/oil cabal. Individuals everywhere have to also accept responsibilities for electing politicians that want to remain in the fossil era, instead of finding ways to progress away from and out of it it. And also accept responsibility for not making their homes more energy efficient and for driving fuel guzzling, toxic fume spewing vehicles. And especially the masters of capitalism also need to be held accountable for not sufficiently investing in, and developing alternatives to burning huge amounts of air poisoning fossil fuels.

Yes.
Anytime than living under a fascist dictator.

Russians do not have a history of choosing their leaders, but need to recall the consequences of choosing poorly, an example is voting (who knows how freely) to allow Putin and his goons to stay in power until 2036. That should also be a reminder to those living in nations with bits of democracy left not to elect people to a position at any level who are morally corrupt and narcissitically impaired, if they act crazy, they probably are. Time to stop elect 'strong' personalities with the compassion of cobras. Most often they are not 'strong' in a positive sense, just posers with manipulative media and lying PR teams backing them. Imagine a male leader posing topless and riding a bear.

Almost 3,000,000 Ukrainian refugees have now fled the country.
Europe hasn't seen anything like this since World War II.
When this is all over, Putin must stand trial for his war crimes and Russia must help Ukraine to rebuild. Just as there was a de-Nazification in Germany, there will need to be a de-Putinization of Russia.
PTownsend
How's that working in Russia these days, or ever since Putin and his gangs of thugs took over, and even before that, How many Russian journalists have been killed or disappeared by the Putin regime, can Russians even find that out, without going to a foreign source? What happens if you even ask? And yet, Russians and their supposedly 'useful' sympathizers use western media to try to discredit media that do not portray Putin and other authoritarians in a positive light. How many palaces does Putin own? How did he become one of the planet's richest men, working as a politician and government employee?
gcbel
Well if the plan was to get bogged down, and demonstrate utter incompetence at all levels then yeah, we believe them. Ought to sack some of these generals… oh, wait
Seriously though, that’s some pretty p poor planning.

Typo, 5th paragraph, should read: “Meanwhile, large explosions thundered across Kyiv before dawn” -

Anyone have a count of dead Russians so far?
Tom San
Russia possesses vast reserves of iron ore, manganese, chromium, nickel, platinum, titanium, copper, tin, lead, tungsten, diamonds, phosphates, and gold, and the forests of Siberia contain an estimated 1/5th of the world's timber.
No big deal.
They're just "resources".

Watch 2016 film Ukraine on Fire by Oliver Stone and you will understand.

No peace. No compromise. Ukraine should push back the invaders and then drive on to Moscow. with the Western arms and some Mig 29's they can't fail but beat Russia. As Europe stops buying their oil and gas their economy will collapse. Revolution will come and a benevolent Western leaning leader will take over. Its obvious.
Antiquesaving
That is only partially true, another factor is Poland and other right to veto new members and said it would veto Ukraine unless it retracted at least 2 laws regarding the OUN UPA.
Last night both CBC and BBC were reporting that Zelensky is hitting resistance to a peace deal within Ukraine as certain elements now believe their own propaganda that they are winning and can beat Russia.
This is the same problem as the idea NATO was going to swoop in and help.
Tom San
I don't share your optimism.
Ditto the above.

According to RT and the civilians fleeing, well at least according to the translation, they were only allowed to flee because Russian allied Ukrainian forces forced open the corridor by taking the eastern district of the city.
Paul
Nothing is what it the Ukrainian state or Western Big Tech and mainstream media is telling us.
Firstly, the formerly second largest army in Europe, armed to the teeth with the latest NATO weapons has been reduced to hunkering down in cities, preparing ambushes.
Secondly, the Russians are taking minimal losses.
Thirdly, lots of formerly Ukrainian army personnel are defecting.
Fourth, the strike in western Ukraine a few days ago that "didn't kill any foreigners" actually killed 100s of foreigners. "Tons" of US and UK volunteers alone according to an American who escaped. "Over 200" according to a German who escaped.
Fifth, Azov Battalion and Right Sektor aren't surrendering because they know if the Russian get them alive, the very best they can hope for is to spend the rest of their days working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week in central Siberia.
Finally, the only reason masses of civilians were able to escape Mariupol is because the Donetsk militia has taken the eastern part of the city and open a corridor, against the wishes of the Azov Battalion, allowing civilians to escape. But escape into Donetsk Militia check points so that no Azov Battalion members can escape.
Ingvar
He's desperately trying not to do that because it's going to be incorporated into Russia. If the Russians wanted to turn any part of Ukraine into rubble, fuel air bombs would do that. It'd take less than 10 to completely destroy Kiev and they'd also kill anyone hiding underground.
