An NTSB recommendation to ban oversize stretch limos will hopefully be forthcoming. The seating configuration (sideways benches, with no seat belts) is inherently unsafe.

Vehicles can crash but proper passenger protection, including seatbelts, are necessary. There are seat belts in the limo bus from Narita, it's not an impossible thing.

You have to wonder what the water in a jacuzzi would do in this kind of accident. I'm not sure I want to know.

They surely didn't wear their seat belts. Was there even seat belts for them? It would be extremely traumatic for the rescue specialists to retrieve those bodies all mangled inside the cabin. My condolences to all people affected.

Some have jacuzzis, all seem to have bars, some 3D virtual reality systems. If regulated strictly, they will be finished.

Great, the sooner the better. If you want to play in a jacuzzi, there is no reason you have to do so in a moving automobile.

If banned, luxury vans and buses will take over. They can also crash.

If those are safer then great, let them take over. If not, ban them too.

It is not a stretch limo if people have to sit in seats belted up. I googled a few limos after reading this. Some have jacuzzis, all seem to have bars, some 3D virtual reality systems. If regulated strictly, they will be finished. If banned, luxury vans and buses will take over. They can also crash.

This article doesn't mention it, but four of the victims were sisters... R.I.P. American friends.

I often drive a 24 PAX tour bus in Vancouver (for Japanese visitors),

and can't imagine such a terrible scene. Here's a link to CBC Canada:

Driver and front passengers legally required to wear seatbelts, but those in the back aren't

Please don't jump to conclusions, I think more limos would make people safer.
