B-b-b-but polar bears in Canada, quite contrary to the propaganda the sheeple up there are fed, are actually increasing in number.

Finally, some solid proof that global warming is not caused by human activity. You've convinced me.

B-b-b-but US Republicans will point to the thermometer in a place that is usually warm and say it's cold and that that's an argument against 'global warming'. I mean, it's got WARMING in the name, right? so how can it be colder anywhere?

Madverts: I misinterpreted your post. My apologizes.

Oh wait.... this thread is about how it's been the hottest decade on record. Geez.... how am I going to blame anything but the source on this?

CO2 concentration has been increasing faster since the industrial revolution than normal cycles. Refute it, fine. Come with different theories to explain the evidences. "Your are a Marxist" doesn't explain anything.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Planet is getting warmer, probably is BUT -

Planet warms and cools in cycles has been doing it for millions of years and is part of the natural phenomena when it ceases to warm or cool then we in real trouble, man has very little to do with what the earth does/is doing.

Go back to how the planet was formed and study how it cooled and warmed and cooled and........well you know how it went dont you?

Some people use the man made BS to tax us , manipulate us and sell us goods/ideas etc for their own agenda, sure by all means reduce your carbon foot print but dont feel guilty about living as some of these climate change freaks want you to do.

Man is responsible for global warming? C'mon you must be really really dumb to think you can fool all the people all of the time with this rubbish, dont take everyone for mugs.

Just because the bureaucrats at the UN issue a report doesn't make it a fact.

And 0.46 degrees is going to destroy the earth?

The Medieval warming period was several degrees hotter than today, so much so that most buildings in Europe from that period were built without fireplaces and chimneys because they weren't necessary.

The earth survived a many ice ages and warming periods before. Even if 0.46 degrees warming is true it doesn't mean that we all have to cow tow to the UN's bidding.

Cold in Europe, but warm in America, early cherry blossoms.

"Global warming" is the Armageddon compenent of millenarial cultural Marxism. It makes losers feel special.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Wow, the dopes are out in full force. The same people who say evolution is a hoax.

Lets be clear, the world is warming and the CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing due to coal plants and other carbon based fuel systems. This is fact. The comments above are polluted by the coal and oil industry PR. Like climate gate, that was a no meaning media dog and pony show. For the simple minded, it seems to have worked.

The amazing illogic of the posters that relates their cold beer drinking to worldwide temperatures is just stunning in its vastness.

I'll believe it when I see real estate prices reflect the supposed deluge we are headed for.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

The key point in this article is "the U.N. weather agency said"

Remember they are the ones that claimed that all the ice would be gone from the Himalayas by 2035 which turned out to be the most widely ridiculed scientific claim of the century.

The UN is trying to establish a global "eco-tax" and elevate their claimed legitimacy as the government of the world.

Interesting thing is that the whole "Climate Change" etc debate is mostly coming from the USA. The rest of the world seems to accept that we are playing a major factor in it.

I was skeptical of climate people for a long time. And since Climate Gate, I know there up to no good. I wonder which data they carefully selected to get this result.

Climate change is happening; always has and always will; we ain't got nothing to do with it (in my opinion).

AND I'm wearing shorts in March.

In Toronto, I saw snow twice this winter.

Those who 'believe' in 'manmade global warming' have been completely brainwashed by the mass media and are merely tools of this propaganda when repeating their mantra. Please don't do it.

A good place to start reading the reality behind this climate change scam is here: http://www.climatedepot.com/

We know what climate change is NOT caused by - mankind and CO2.

And for a more likely motivator behind climate change, for real, physical science behind climate change rather than computer models (garbage in, garbage out, right?) then start reading about Svensmark, cloud theory, and CLOUD experiments at CERN.

First part of a series of videos here about this theory here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1qGOUIRac0

Wikipedia on Svensmark: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henrik_Svensmark

And a little on the CLOUD experiment at CERN that so far substantiate Svensmark's theory, although more analysis is being done:

tokyotea

You have been completely brainwashed by the mass media and are merely tools of this propaganda when you make uneducated comments such as those above

.Just had the hottest summer on record where I come from, tiger.

It's now widely acknowledged that human activities are making a major contribution to global climate change.

I don't think anyone claimed that human activities are the only cause.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

"The world is warming because of human activities..." is not the same as "Human activities are the exclusive cause of global warming".

Michel Jarraud's carefully worded statement leaves open the possibility that the majority of global warming is caused by natural changes in the earth's temperature that have occurred for millions of years.

Absolutely amazing to see people say that because it’s snowing or a little chillier in one city, that climate change isn’t happening.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

People with basic knowledge in geosciences know that Europe has mild winters due to the Gulf Stream's warm water, which becomes disrupted due to chances of ocean currents, which are caused by global warming. Yes, global warming means a drop in winter temperatures in Europe.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Global warming causes extreme weather / climate, thus resulting in hotter summers, colder winters, stronger storms, etc. It doesn't mean that March in Tokyo ceases to be chilly.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Some people need to educate themselves about climate change.

Climate change involves….climate change. In simple terms, that means temperatures and weather patterns change, bringing extreme weather events, as are being witnessed with increasing frequency.

Climate change does not simply involve a warming planet – it involves a whole range of climatic events, triggers and changes in weather patterns, sea levels and acidification, typhoon activity, etc.

“Didn't Europe have a record cold winter this year? Enough of this bullsh*t. Crying wolf works for a while, then the public figures out the true motivations of the global warming cheerleaders: more global government, transfer of money from 1st World to the corrupt, lazy 3rd World, turning our very breath into a commodity to be sold by vampires like Goldman Sachs.”

It’s ignorance like this that is going to make things worse. The planet is clearly warming, as this article, satellite photos, and research by thousands of scientists have shown over the years.

Doing nothing and ignoring, downplaying or pretending climate change is not a serious threat is the height of stupidity.

We need action, and we need it now, to ensure today’s generation of kids (not even mentioning their kids) have a planet that is actually livable.

Above three quotes are foolish and misinformed.

March and April have always been cold in Japan.

World climate has been gradually becoming warmer. As the weather patterns we knew become more unstable, the seasons will become more drastic.

To enlighten yourselves, try a google search for "global warming cold temperatures."

The UN is just as corrupt and worthless as the League of Nations was.

Meanwhile for the North Atlantic basin, the 10 years marked the highest level of tropical cyclone activity, including Hurricane Katrina which struck the United States in 2005 and Cyclone Nargis which hit Myanmar in 2008.

What does Myanmar have to do with the North Atlantic basin? The climate changers can't even get their geography right. And as for North Atlantic Hurricanes, the region is in a 30 or 40 year period of high hurricane activity, starting back around 1990. That's how hurricanes work, in dormant and active periods which switch over every 30 or 40 years.

Elbuda Mexicano, my thoughts exactly

these climate change monkeys are clueless. waste of public funding.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Warm?? Tell that to my body cold and shivering here in Tokyo!! We are almost in April but this year the cherry blossoms are no where to be seen yet!! I do not even want to drink any cold beer in this cold wet weather!
