Disturbing....could this open eyes to the multi-culture movement? When I visit an established stable countries, I DO like to feel the culture. It seems industrialized nations are diluting regional cultures.
Here in USA the culture historically was to asymilate into. Now we have Spanish as a second language. ALL the immigrants from decades ago learned English. They didn't introduse their cultures to mainstream USA.

"they believed he planned to travel from Turkey to Syria to join the terror group"
Likely, these loser deviants would have found themselves a weekly distraction from the empty desert as a sexual violation to prove hatred for the 'Western Devil'.
If sexual violation is their goal, there are many outlets for that desire in a profitable design and practiced on 42nd Street for many years.
Funny how these young boys are so desperate to provide a sexual release for ISIS freaks. Well, comfort women, comfort men, what is the difference? ISIS gladly welcomes sexual violation, they aren't exactly specific when it comes to mutilation for psycho-sexual gratification.

Nothing to worry about! Obama keeps assuring us that ISIS is not islamic, so surely no muslim would listen to these non-islamic imposters. The young men who wanted to join ISIS must be Catholics or Buddhists..... right?

Revoke their citizenship, I say. I am not for a US invasion of Iraq (again) and Syria, but the US might want to help Egypt and Turkey hold their borders against this evil menace. Iraq and Syria should all but be "fenced off" from the rest of the world and let them all battle it out (ISIS and the other factions of Sunni and the Shia as well).

Didn't the president say that we are as safe as can be? The jihadists wouldn't dream of staging an attack on our soil. So much for that misguided analogy.
MarkG
.....and Kerry reiterated today, we are in the safest time in history. Twisting statistics can elude truths or result in a favorable result. Seems all to many people do not understand this.

The US is safer than it has ever been in history. However people are more afraid than they have ever been in history. You can thank a for-profit media for that.
MarkG
Where are those unbiased statistics on US safer Stranger? We've had several close calls with the Islamic fanatics in the last couple years. Bungled plans yes, it's a matter of time before were victims once again with the expansion of the Islamic evil sects. Europe is a hot-pot ready to boil. N Africa is in chaos. The ME is clearly out of control. And we are safe!

No, Americans are not safe, but it is not terrorists they must worry about, it is their fellow citizens who, thanks to the GOP, are allowed extensive arsenals they can use whenever they go a bit nuts.
That same party is also doing their best to "protect" America by threatening to defund the Homeland Security Department.
Oh, yes, the GOP does wonders for American safety.

@MarjG
I'd like to point out that of the three, none were US citizens. This story should not be taken as support for your claim.

No, he didn't. He said that IS posed a threat to the Middle East and to the United States.
No. Obama never said such a thing, directly or indirectly. Have you been keeping up with the news? Oh, right . . .
Sorry, but that's not an 'analogy'. As a professional journalist (albeit off-duty), you should know that. But then again, maybe this is just another example of the degradation of integrity in American journalism. Witness Bill 'Combat Reporter' O'Reilly and lack of embarrassment on the part of Fox.
You are in a sad state of advanced ODS, friend. May the good so-and-so have pity on your soul. You need it.

Citizenship makes no difference spbpb. They were residents and one was an illegal. They chose to remain in the US and chose to maintain barbaric lifestyle.

Multiculturalism at it again!
If these Central Asian fellers had just chosen to assimilate to the Leave It To Beaver/Jesus white-bread lifestyle, there would have been no problems. They never would have thought of causing destruction anywhere in the world. They would never have considered that 'Spanish as a second language' and such liberal claptrap. Gives me the vapors!
God bless Ward Cleaver!

@Plasticmonkey the barbaric lifestyle that is not considered legal in many Western countries such as female genital mutilation, subjugation and abuse of women, honor killings, disregard of Federal laws in favor of religious "laws", persecution of others for "blasphemy" or apostacy, murder of those who don't agree or wilfully subjugate to another's religious beliefs, the list goes on.
Nobody cares that Muslims wear their niqab, hajibs/etc, or don't eat pork or drink alcohol, eat only halal food and pray 5+ times a day. But when one's religious beliefs (not to be confused with "cultural" beliefs) advocates for ideals that run counter to the laws of the land they're in and human rights laws that are protected in those lands, there is going to be a problem, a serious problem.
