3 climbers from U.S., Canada believed to have died in fall on New Zealand's highest peak

They seem to be a little old to be attempting such a climb. Also they may not have been used to the mountain conditions in New Zealand. It is different to North America. Many foreigners in Japan have trouble with Japanese mountains as well. Be careful this Winter.
