What justification is the gun lobby going to use for this one?

This shooting took place in an establishment known to the Detroit Police because of its link to illegal gambling. It also took place in a city that is consistently rated as one of the most dangerous in America with a violent crime rate that is over five times the national average. This was a gang fight in an ongoing turf war for control of Detroit’s lucrative criminal economy. I don’t see the “gun lobby” attempting to justify the second amendment based on this incident.

Some gangsta thugs shoot up a "barbershop" known for illegal gambling and who knows what else, and you want to link the NRA? Wow. Doesn't get more ludicrous than that. Might as well try to blame Emmanuel Goldstein.

Detroit is a sad state of what America is fast becoming. What used to be the crown jewel of invention and industry is nothing more than an abandoned city ran by criminals. The government does not care about Detroit. They do care about foreign wars and aid to unstable countries. Call in the national guard and clean that city up.

OK, I read this article and see a city in desperation fighting to stay alive and becoming more violent as things continue to crumble... I was rather disturbed to see that every comment was "How's the NRA going to spin this one" rather than a discussion on how Detroit's going to recover. The problem in this incident isn't the guns, it is the people trying to kill each other over scraps of money and territory. I wish everyone would stop jumping on Obama's "take the guns" bandwagon every time the news reports a story using the word "shooting".

Do you honestly believe that if the people who did this did not have guns an incident would not have taken place? I mean look at the night club employee/owner that got beaten to death in Japan several months ago inside his nightclub while patrons where inside.

It seriously hurts my head to know that there are people as dumb as "Get Real". Pretty much the only people who haven't left Detroit are the gangs that use that place as their haven. I for one thank the NRA for helping to protect my rights to carry a firearm. Especially if I ever had to go to God forsaken Detroit! Why should law abiding people not be able to protect themselves? You clearly have 0% knowledge on what you are speaking on.

Yes, if you "trick" them out, with spinners and 20" rims. For those who want to ban guns in America, I am willing to bet that the shooters in this case, would not be able to own a gun being that they have a criminal record so the guns laws are working. But, they get illegal guns. Since they didn't list the types of guns used, if it was an AK, it would be a gun not made in America. If it were Lugars, again another type of gun not made in America. Many of the handguns bought in America, are made in Europe. So if you ban guns in America, they will still come, only the illegal guns will be purchased and people who have them are not the ones who normallly follow the law.

When I saw the headline I had an image of rival barbershop quartets shooting it out... to be honest, that wouldn't surprise me in America.

Hard to picture why two 2004 Chevy Impalas pull up at the same time and start shooting at each other, with some shots then going into the shop, prompting return fire...
