Sorry Manji, this is your typical arrogant American talk, America can do no wrong?? America and Americans have nothing to do with all of the problems not only in Mexico, but go on to Guatemala, oh, Colombia, Bolivia you name a country in South America and most at one time have been invaded by the USA for democracy?? But this is another part of history that you will never learn about in US history text books, even Brazil does not buy any of the American BS about America being all wholesome etc..this is why many of the presidents in Latin America are getting together and coming up with new ideas, like LEGALIZING all drugs, so we do not have to kill our Mexican police, Mexican soldiers, or change it to Colombian, Guatemalan, Peruvian, Ecuadorian,Venezuelan, Brazilian, Argentinian etc.. This is the other side of the coin that you will never get on CNN nor on FOX etc...most of South America does not have the resources to fight against all the power the mafias have, that $$$$ coming mostly from drug sales in the USA, Western Europe and yes here in Japan, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Osaka, Fukuoka etc.. We are all connected, like it or not, you can try to keep on avoiding this truth, but at the end of the day, until America gets tough on druggies like they do over in Malaysia, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran you know, good old fashioned death penalty not only for the druggies but also for the smugglers and it would be nice if they also gave the death penalty to all of the gun runners too, since all of these guys have tons and tons of BLOOD all over their hot, sweaty palms.

Juan Carlos, I agree with you that Mexicans are blaming others for their problems. I think it's a great step they've taken battling the narcos, but there needs to be some fundamental reform within the institutions there: the police, courts, government, social welfare, schooling etc. The Mexican people need to be taught morals and ethics; lower the birth rate to reduce crime, be more strict with access to alcohol; basically to think and live in the long term. Most importantly, if there were both Mexican and American military on the border, the influx of drugs and weapons will stop. But that would affect Mexican immigration to the U.S. and the source of millions in remittances every year. This is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. The Mexican people must choose between truly stopping the flow of contraband into the U.S. or of people; between the short term gain of remittances or the long term effects of an insecure border with the U.S. that empowers the cartels.

Elbuda, the U.S. is the civilization that is taking advantage of the Mexicans who fight for its scraps. This will continue until Mexicans decide if they want drug money or illegal immigrant money. Secure your border and you'll suddenly find the cartels lacking the funds to pay for their troops and weapons. It is not the U.S.'s responsibility to verify every mule the drug trafficker sends nor the deaths that result. The U.S. is a sovereign land. So if you want Mexicans to stop dying, don't blame the U.S. Turn the mirror on yourself. I know it's hard.

Blaming the violence in Mexico on the US drug habit is like blaming farmers for the obesity epidemic...

I think Juan Carlos took the words right out of my mouth but it is also important to add, this horrible violence in Mexico is fueled by the drug business in the USA and all of the illegal guns, hand grenades you name the USA sells all of these horrible weapons to Mexicans, Mexican Americans, regular or white dudes who want a make a quick buck and what do we have in Mexico?? The mafia is out gunning with better weapons not only the Mexican police but the Mexican ARMY! So if you all think that your marijuana, cocaine addictions have nothing to do with this violence, well just keep on puffing or snorting or shooting your arms up, and keep dreaming that every thing is cool, but in the end both drugs and the mafia will kill you, one slowly and the other one on the spot if you are lucky, if not you get a slow, slow painful torture. So I do hope that President Obama comes down harder on all the gun shops on the USA side of the Mexico/USA border, last time I checked over 2 thousand LEGAL gun/ammo shops on the border with Mexico on the USA side ready to sell to ANYBODY and EVERYBODY if the price is right, all for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So amigos, who are the real barbarians in this drama??

Mexicans are not barbarians manji, at least the most of Mexicans must live reading this kind of news while they are trying to do a life free of insecurity. Is very hard to avoid to be a sicario when the people is poor and without education. Also the way of life of these people is to live fast, to enjoy all the things in life as long as they could because they know they could die later. The narcocorridos teach the young people over the good things in life, and the young people want easy money, and sometimes they don't have any moral strength to understand that the easy money is the fastest way to be violently killed or to spend the life in jail. Also another thing that worry me about my country is the fact that Mexicans are indifferent to the troubles, always blaming the president, the USA or the narcos over the insecurity issues but they are practicing the corruption to avoid losing the car or to open a business quickly, knowing that this could lead to have people ready for corruption and delincuence...

Its unlikely any possible witnesses will risk their lives to give information leading to a prosecution of the killers.I guess people may consider that as long as they are murdering each other its just a few less criminals in their soceity

A most excellent way of preventing repeat offenders and cutting short ambitions of career criminals looking to establish their own organizations.

The victims were all part of the same criminal organization, Escobar said without elaborating.

He means the police killed them.

Shouldn't the headline be "Mexican Head Seek Arms"?

How many thousands of years and the arrival of the Spaniards and the Mexicans still act like barbarians.

This all sounds really, really messed up, but if we are talking about Mexico, not their tequila, but what's real south of the border, real backwards and loving their Day of the Dead festival and evil gangbanging scum like MS-13 and mafia La Eme, this ain't much of a surprise to me.

I know this may sound real cold blooded, but for us Mexicans, if the narcos are killing each other off like this, BRAVO! We shed no tears for these Satanical druggies, let them all burn in hell for all of eternity, karma as they say is a b!tch right??
