Thanks for explaining leveling up.

@itsonlyrocknroll, it's hard not to be cynical.

Images of the final vote among the Tory faithful. The men shouting, "Get off my lawn," and their wives thinking, "I like a man who dresses well."

Kemi was the only conservative among them. Now it's just the WEF drones left.

No Truss please.

wallace beat me to it, sorry to stutter.

I do not have confidence that the process of finding the next leader of the conservative party and subsequently prime minster is unbiased, trustworthy or remotely impartial.

There is a level of underhandedness, manipulation in play to whittle down the candidates to a chosen scenario.

Rishi Sunak and what the membership would have little choice but consider to be unelectable.

Of course this is a cynical view, hopefully to be proven wrong

Desert Tortoise

I don't know if this is of any help.

I understand the pavement and adjacent boardwalk renovation work opposite our Brighton offices was the result of a successful bid from the first tranche of level up funding. Councils have to submit a bid for the funding.

Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities supports communities across the UK to thrive, making them great places to live and work. DLUHC is a ministerial department, supported by 15 agencies and public bodies.

To make neglected towns and cities better places to live and work.

I was reading the metadata for each image at the end of the article. In the next to last image there is mention of "Leveling Up Secretary Greg Clark". Would someone here be so kind as to tell me what the H a "Leveling Up Secretary" does?

Kemi Badenoch, a previously little-known lawmaker who has become a rising star of the party’s right wing, was eliminated from the contest after receiving the fewest votes from Conservative lawmakers in their fourth round of voting

If she’s the right’s rising star, the left can rest easy. Vacuous politician. Scowling and virtue-signaling isn’t going to cut it.

Truss apparently has momentum. Labour must be hoping this momentum carries her all the way.

Imagine Truss winning this. Starmer is seen as dull. The Tories could put a cardboard cutout of Thatcher in charge.
